Personally I actually liked those designs more than others for their costumes, since it actually was pretty colorful and uniquely suited to each character in some capacity or another. Admittedly, yeah, they were over-muscled, but what are you going to do? ^_~

I wonder what they keep in those pouches...

Thanks for liking the site and checking it out! ^_^Lewis Lovhaughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06724769374732321363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5809126056034906096.post-52090628564710586282007-06-25T01:38:00.000-05:002007-06-25T01:38:00.000-05:00Woooow....Your review seemed more entertaining tha...Woooow....Your review seemed more entertaining than the actual book. Did Liefield do the designs for the X-men cartoon show? If so its no wonder I never really dug it too much because ive never liked that style. And whats with all the Pouches in that show? Sorry of topic...

Why are superhero costumes so bad? Ever since the creation of the superhero weve had such over the top costumes.

I found this through Girl-wonder since im lurker there and personally this site is great!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5809126056034906096.post-21414915661257713822007-04-25T11:22:00.000-05:002007-04-25T11:22:00.000-05:00Ah, Liefeld. I actually feel bad that, when this ...Ah, Liefeld. I actually feel bad that, when this came out, I hated his guts. I hadn't seen Greg Land at that time, and unlike Land, at least Rob does his own work.

Oh, and have you ever read The Titans Companion? There's an interview with him where be basically confirm that Shaft was supposed to be Speedy. He also explains that Vogue was originally going to be Harlequin/Duela Dent/Joker's Daughter, so that explains (but doesn't excuse) the clown make-up. It brings up another thing that makes me think good of Rob - he acknowledges when he recycles.

That said, this is still utterly and wholly terrible in a "Giant Spider Invasion" way.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5809126056034906096.post-88452046361132731262007-02-27T01:07:00.000-06:002007-02-27T01:07:00.000-06:00I do admit, Badrock (originally Bedrock... they we...I do admit, Badrock (originally Bedrock... they were seriously worried about a lawsuit from Hanna-Barbera over the Flinstones?!) didn't come off as too bad a guy, but then again, the problem is that besides the fact that he's a polite guy to his mother, we have virtually no characterization or development with him to make him likeable to us.

Still, nice to see some good came out of him. ^_^Lewis Lovhaughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06724769374732321363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5809126056034906096.post-6939767405634185552007-02-26T21:33:00.000-06:002007-02-26T21:33:00.000-06:00I acctually read this seri9es (but not this issue)...I acctually read this seri9es (but not this issue) and honistly badrock was the only cha=ricter who was any good.

while he looks like the love child of Gray Hulk and the Thing

it was his back story that made him interesting (i forget some of the details but) he is as of the start of the comic 16 he had be exposed to some thing (a chemical i think) that changed him

one of my favorite sences was badrock talking to shaft about the new Youngblood action figures "I'm gunna colect em all..." nothing funnier than a muscle bound fan boyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5809126056034906096.post-65617291451083556662007-02-20T00:55:00.000-06:002007-02-20T00:55:00.000-06:00Oh, man, this takes me back! I wondered how his art got worse going to Youngblood (probably because he didn't have an editor telling him to draw it right this time), and all the characters are the worst walking clichés of 90's throwaway heroes.

Hey, I was 16. I loved that stuff! Looking forward to keeping up with the new site, Lewis!Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02706226286820552868noreply@blogger.com
