Hey, everybody. Blip.tv is having a slow month with their ads, so there have been as many playing during the videos. However, some DO play and the thing is, that's how I get money to fund this little activity.
As such, I humbly request that those here that watch my videos don't close the ads if they pop up (I rarely do anything with the bottom of the screen, anyway, and anything I do use will be viewable in full screen, anyway) and maybe once in awhile click the ads, since that gives me an even better cut. You don't have to actually care about the thing they're advertising, but it encourages Blip to give me money and it encourages advertisers to continue working with Blip.
Thanks!
Cool. Will do.
ReplyDeleteNP Dude
ReplyDeleteguess im gonna switch off the adblocker for you. :)
ReplyDeletebut why are you explaining this? dont you know that advertising is moneymaking magic that doesnt have to be explained?
Will do. I didn't think that it made any difference.
ReplyDeleteOkay, half the time they won't close properly unless I click them and then reappear after a couple of minutes anyway. May as well leave them.
ReplyDelete"guess im gonna switch off the adblocker for you. :)"
ReplyDeleteI'm not entirely convinced that you need to. XD I asked Blip once about it and while they said certain types of adblockers will block the ads, I don't see how, since they're embedded into the code for the video and not like a pop-up.

Yeah, people have complained about their lack of closing, too. I'm not entirely sure why it works for some people and not for others.
Oh, and thanks, all! ^_^

ReplyDeleteadblock plus for the firefox browser does that. dont know how but it even used to block the ads in the indymogul videos. only place where i have to turn it off is when i want to watch james rolfes reviews at spike.com.
"Oh, and thanks, all! ^_^"
no problem dude. thats the least we can do for all the entertainment you provide. WE have to thank YOU! :)
hey lewis can you give me a site where i can find a checklist of the green lantern current run starting with the origin or discovery of other lantern colors beside green. I just dont know where to start reading since the current story arc of a huge battle between different color lantern sounds cool.
ReplyDeletesure, sounds like s solid plan indeedy
ReplyDeleteThe first appearance, I THINK, of a Sinestro Corps. ring wsa back in the trade of Green Lantern: Revenge of the Green Lanterns, but you'd have to see for yourself, otherwise the Sinestro Corps. War two-volumes sums up the initial conflict and sets the stage for the later stuff.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize turning the ads off reflected negatively in regards to what you make off the ads. I'm more than willing to leave them on, but I think the reason most people turn them off is because they tend to block the screen. I know it only takes out the bottom panel, but sometimes there is action occurring in that portion of the screen and the ads are obscuring it.
ReplyDeleteactually they've made the ads transparent now and you dont notice them as much.
ReplyDeletedoes no one care about spiderman noir or the re issue of the sprit comics come on!!! marvel is slowly dying and to show for it they made a crappy comic with obama on the front cover he dosn't even get show till the back of the issue!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery helpful thread!
ReplyDeleteWrite real English, though, when you post!
"Hey, everybody. Blip.tv is having a slow month with their ads, so there have been as many playing during the videos."
Your use of "as" introduces a comparison that you don't deliver: "so there have been as many playing during the videos [as ...?]" I think what you mean to say is that "there have been many more ads playing during the videos than usual."
"As such, I humbly request that those here that watch ..."
Your use of "those" refers to people, not things. Hence the appropriate pronoun is "who," not "that."
