He went from zero to hero to back to zero again in twelve issues.

  1. Your code word is the F-word in Spanish? Hmmm, weird choice...

  2. It is? It's also the designation for Jaime Reyes' Blue Beetle scarab.

    Khaji-Da.

  3. "THWPOOM"? How are you supposed to pronounce that? Were the sound effects written by H.P. Lovecraft?

  4. Ah! The phonetics I got was "cogida" instead, something that swearing assassin could probably say in the Spanish translation.
That's the NFL on Fox splash music right? What's the famous NFL music with the brass band going up and down while playing over footage of the first Superbowls? I forget what it is.

  5. Don't joke, Undecipherable Chinese Characters Blogger User! Only something as evil as the Great Cthulhu himself could have inspired something as diabolically idiotic as this comic. Who else would deem it suitable to take poor Brooklyn taxi drivers thousands of miles away from their native land?

    Fab review as usual.

  6. Were there two NFL Superpro #1's? The copy of the book I had consisted of a origin story and a backup about SuperPro fighting a big roided-up guy?

  7. Football truly is holy. Want proof. Well my father's buissness requires us to travel every weekend. So to cut expenses we bought an RV. A few weeks ago our RV broke down (on railroad tracks no less). And we called the company who informed us they couldn't get ahold of a dispatcher because it was superbowl sunday but that any other sunday wouldn't have been a problem.

SO yes clearly no sport is as sacred and holy as football.

  8. I think that was the Special Edition issue that explained his backstory, or possibly a one-shot before they got into the series proper.

  9. I'm expecting Marvel to revive and revamp this somehow. Perhaps the Superpro mantle is given to every successful QB who leads his team to the Superbowl win. In this case the Steelers' guy, as given to him by Eli Manning, who was given THAT by Payton. etc etc. Oh and the Superpro fights some anthropomorphic Detroit Lions furious of their 0-16 record.

  10. Dude, what software do you keep using for these effects? (e.g. lighting, lasers, voice changing etc.) You mentioned once you use Windows Movie Maker, so you're not using a Mac.

  11. I've upgraded to Adobe Premiere Elements now. ^^

  12. Don't joke, Undecipherable Chinese Characters Blogger User!

    Hey, that's Japanese. :P

(If it helps, it says "Japan something-something-I-need-to-learn-more-kanji 's Maniakku/Maniac.)

(Yes, I'm only showing off. Say, wasn't there a video or something I was supposed to watch...?)

  13. It's kind of interesting how there are comics for about everything that has ever been popular. What's next?

    Swiffer-man!

Mr. Clean! Cleaning the streets with quilted sheets of JUSTICE

    Office Max! The comic!...wait...

  14. btw, excellent MST3K reference at the end.

But i'm beginning to think you aren't ready for some football...

  15. 5:58: Is that a hooker in the background? In a kid's comic?

  16. So what. I can multiply 2 with 2 and get 10 too... IN BASE 4!!

  17. I think I remember him guest starring in a book back then too. It may have been one of the Spider-Man books, but I could be wrong.

In any case, I definitely remember seeing this on the rack and even then realizing that it could be nothing but a bad idea.

  18. Lol! What a dumb comic! Funny video there with lots of subtle humor!

  19. I like the One More Day jokes, and the whole shocking continuity alarm thing was genius! So until Batman pops a cap in Joker's ass, Make Mine Linkara!

  20. It's "Japanese Culture Maniac" (Nihon bunka no maniakku). Sorry, last time I made a note that I started my google blog for my Japanese class, hence the Japanese name.

I like "Undecipherable Japanese Characters Blogger User" though. I think I'll go by UJCBU from now on. :)

  21. LOL! This was the first comic I ever bought! Yes, it was hokey, looking back, but it had spider-man, football, and he was a superhero! And I was in fourth grade!

P.S. Love the riff on Angry Video Game Nerd. One of the things I like about your stuff is the lack of language every other word. Thank you for humorous, yet clean offerings!
