Star Trek #1

To boldly and shamelessly steal where no one has stolen from before!

Very funny ending. Though the comic itself seems more forgettable than bad.

Also I thought you finally were going to make it one episode without taking a jab at one-more day.

Can't wait to see New Men #1 (Grrrr... 90s!), NFL Super Pro, and Neutro.

I'm pretty sure the Mr. T one didn't have a One More Day joke.

I'll tell you what, NFL Superpro has a Spider-Man cameo, so I won't make a One More Day joke. ^^

I got the DVD-rom that has all the Star Srek comics up till 2002. To be safe, I am only reading stuff done by Peter David. I will get the chance to read other issues once I find out what else is good.

Dude, awesome ending. What'd you use to make the facial burns?

Oh wow- thank you so much for paying homage to Ricardo Montalban. That speech always sends chills up my spine. Of course, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who shows off their lovely molars during that movie!

The volume was great this time, but the equalization was a bit off the farther along you get in the review. Also, at 6:55, I noticed that Lt. Saavik suddenly became a man. Did I miss an important stolen plot point?

As usual, great review. It made me laugh, it made cry... with laughter, and it made me believe in the unifying power of Priceline jokes. By the way, great Kirk impressions- I'd love to see more of it!

I used ketchup and table pepper for the burns. Subsequently, table pepper stings. XD

The funniest video you did by far! As a Trekkie myself, I picked up a few of the things you did before you brought them up. But yeah, that comic does suck! BTW I think the One More Day running gag of jokes and potshots are funny, even more so when I heard that podcast you did. Awesome work there!

"IT'S MAGIC!"

God, I love you.

I liked the review, though it got a little gimmicky at the end. I liked the part where you fought the comic book, that was entertaining to watch. It was hysterical in an Ed Wood kind of way. But I'd watch the gimmicks a little bit though. We watch ya for the angry rants and snide comments on the stupid comics. Gimmicks can definitely lead down the path to the dark side.

I'm pretty sure the blue stuff of the cover was Kirk's Pure holy radiance.

It's his saintly halo in the neoclassical rendition of "The Last Supper IN SPACE!!!"

"That's no moon... it's a space station!" I'm surprised no one has used this yet. Anyway, fun review as usual.

Honestly - not having read it for myself, mind - this one seemed more mediocre (and occasionally inconsistent) than terrible. The art looked good, anyway.

I can't fault the use of Ricardo Montalban, though. Is the "It's magic" line a reference to something?

Was it me or was Kirk calling Saavik "Mr. Saavik" for about the first half of the review (in the comic I mean)? I have a nasty habit of reading everything put in front of me.

The ending part where you battle the sentient copy of Star Trek #1 - a crowning moment of awesomeness!

@Brian Shanahan
"Was it me or was Kirk calling Saavik "Mr. Saavik" for about the first half of the review?"

He did that in the movies, too. I just thought they started using it more inclusively in the future.

Holy hell, Batman! The bees must have gotten into my brain today, that or I've been listening to too much punk music. I have seen this episode. I look like a fool, Lewis, and I apologize.

"What could they possible hope to achieve by ripping off Star Trek II!?"

Doesn't seem so funny two movies later, does it. D:
