Silent Hill: Dying Inside in 5 Panels

...Remember that place...
...Silent Hill...?
...Yeah, it looked a hell of a lot better than this.

  1. There was a Silent Hill comic? How many video games become comics, anyways?

  2. There have actually been several Silent Hill comics, though this one is a miniseries that's known for its suckitude.

  3. "How many video games become comics, anyways?"

    Several...

World or Warcraft, City of Heroes, Sonic the Hedgehog (200 ISSUES?), Darkstalkers, Doom, Double Dragon, Resistance, Silent Hill, Street Fighter, Halo, Mortal Kombat, Dead Space, Resident Evil.

    I'm sure there's plenty more...

Sonic the Hedgehog was actually a continuation of the cartoon of the same name, the SatAM one that the Nostalgia Critic reviewed beside its god-awful counterpart The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. While that still technically makes it a comic/cartoon based on a video game, the comic/cartoon is so far detached with its storyline and characterization from the video games, that Sega had to create an editorial mandate demanding the comics create adaptations for whatever game installment they were releasing at the time...all for the detriment of the main, good(ish) story.

  6. (sorry if I double posted, I was having trouble logging in)

I've never cared for that art style, honestly (the metal gear comic was also not my cup of tea). That head was quite huge and this video quite funny.

By the way Linkara, have you got to Free Comic Book Day today? Blackest Night #0, Atomic Robo, and the TMNT reprint were pretty sweet. I also picked up the Endgame TPB on your last video's recommendation and... DAMN YOU!!!

Six months ago, I wouldn't have even touched a western comic, especially a DC title and now I'm going to comic book stores for free Comic Book Day, Sitting at Barnes & Noble reading classics, reading Green Lantern and Blue Beetle and Enjoying myself immensely...you've reawoken my long dead comic book fandom...I hope you're proud of yourself...

Endgame was awesome by the way.

  8. You know, I only just this weekend got around to playing Silent Hill for the PS1.

Those are some really, really stupid controls, I gotta tell you.

  9. Have you ever read other terrible video game comics like the Legend of Zelda comics published by Valiant in the late 80's? I think they were even worse than the TV show. And that's saying something.

  10. Chris: I read those as a kid. The Mario ones were cute in a stupid kind of way, but I agree with you on the Zelda ones.

  11. I'm pretty sure the sonic the hedgehog comics were worse. Anyways, at least the SH comic wasn't based on the movie for sucktitude's sake.
