This week, Linkara looks at Green Lantern #3, Batgirl #3, Batwoman #3, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9 #3, Batman and Robin #3, Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE #3, Batman: The Brave and the Bold #13, Mister Terrific #3, Ducktales #6, and Darkwing Duck #18.NOTE: My shop didn't get Demon Knights #3, so I hadn't realized that it came out. Will be reading it digitally when I have more time.
Good information. At some point I should find a new comic shop, the old one close a while back.
I know this isn't the place to ask, but I'm on pins and needles. When will we see the results of the "Redesign Pollo Contest"? With that out of the way, another great video, I really need to pick up the Darkwing Duck series, I can't wait for the trade.
Some good information linkara. also from what i've heard now that marvel has the lincese they plan on contiueing the darkwing/ducktales titles. not sure if its going to have the same teams though
I'd be very interested to hear what you have to say on Demon Knights 3, Linkara. I picked it up, and... well, I liked it, but I'm a little uncertian on it, looking back. Won't say more (spoilers) but this one seems to really have gotten somewhat dark.
I'm wondering if on the weeks you don't have time to record an episode of that's all I'm saying if you could do a brief text summary of your opinions on the books, as its always nice to hear your thoughts on it.I thought Batman and Robin was awesome, good character stuff, good action and great art.Green Lantern is getting better with each issue and I am looking forward to seeing where this story goes (also I hope the next big GL event won't have to include Red Lanterns, because I don't want to have to admit to owning any copies of that...)also Penguin: Pain and Prejudice, I can't reccomend this miniseries enough, it is just brilliant
I was really looking forward to a Babs/Nightwing reunion. When even that fails to impress, you know something is wrong. I'm already annoyed by the new, dumber Babs, and her endless "hip" narrative captions. I'm tired of the vague miracle never being explained. So I'm done.
I would recommend the Young Justice comic series. It actually acts as a parallel to the TV series taking place between the episodes.
Hello, there, hence I am a bit behind the new stuff, because it is not published here, yet, all I can say, is that the batgirl comics, with Steph Brown being batgirl are really good. Liked the sense of humour in those and - hell, I think, I will be looking, if Amazon has the new Darkwing Duck Comics, because I really liked the show. ^^Definitely interesting video, I hope, the 52-comics will be published in my home country soon. Looking forward to them. GreetsCal
I see what you mean by titles needing support. The same type of thing occurs over in Marvel when some titles are AWESOME and end up getting cancelled six issues in. I'm talking about books like Young Allies, which had Firestar and a number of other c-list superheroes. If Marvel wanted to, they COULD have a Teen Titans style book like Young Allies. However, I think Avengers Academy may fill that role more since they've now shifted gears a LOT.It's just a shame that Young Allies never really found the audience. Then again, it could be that Marvel didn't let it find its footing. That's all *I* am saying. =P
Is Green Lantern going to be one of the books you are going to drop? From what Hal has degenerated to and what the Guardians have been becoming, it really doesn't seem like there is enough reason for you, or really anyone to still care about that book. It's really a sad day when the movie version of Green Lantern looks better than the comic(for the record, I didn't care for that movie).
Thanks to this quickie review, I caved in and ordered the first couple trades of Darkwing Duck while they were still available. What gets me is why doesn't Marvel just continue these books? Just sayin' since Disney now owns them, it shouldn't be too difficult though with the recent layoffs at Marvel...
NOTE: My shop didn't get Demon Knights #3, so I hadn't realized that it came out. Will be reading it digitally when I have more time.WTF??? What happened with "PLEASE HELP TO KEEP THIS COMIC GOING ON FOREVER BY ACTUALLY BUYING THIS BOOK ?" Me and my Team read comic books digitally because we are foreigners with no budget to expend with buying and import the real thing, we may be thieves but we are the kind of thieves who stolen the seeds from Nothingham and give it back to the poor, we are Hooded Claws - go figured it.For a passionated fun from a few weeks ago this digital move looks like a shoot in the foot, not something really made to complain about but a bad P.R. move anyway.Readers Across the Top of the Fourth Wall Please Buy it Demon Knights #3 and following issues, it's a good damn book so far, forget what Lewis said about go digitally because that was probably bad edited - slow down Lewis, you are obviously tired and didn't really mean it when you write that. Thanks God Christmas is coming.P.S.: Thanks for keep the TAIS Alive ! And if you like it you buy it, unless of course you can't, like when somebody is like you and the budget don't allowed or when someone else is like us and we have conflicted interests about and really stretched moral fibers concerning "DC COMICS GREATEST MISTAKES AND THE REASONS WHY WE DON'T BUY IT".Did you see it DC ? It's not just us, even Lewis can became tired enough to be corrupted by your digital vices. Praise for the heavens if he stays lawful good after his 20's.
I think it's fine if you take your time on these and release them when it feels right for you. I think they're very helpfull, as I am someone who never really started to read comics. I tried out with X-Men some years ago, since I always liked them on TV and such, but I was thrown in the middle of the action and with Jean Grey gone and replaced by her and Scott's daughter from another reality... I couldn't really set my foot into it and over the months I stopped because of this.I gave up on US Comics untill I came across tgwtg and saw your reviews. You initinally became my most favorite reviewers and all the reviews woke my interest in comics - but of course the good ones you didn't talked about except for mentioning here and there. This has grown till today and I really think to give one of the new series a shot to go into the Comics on a good start, may it be one of the DC Comics you reccommend or the new start on X-Men. I'm still unsure about getting the original US version or the german version (which is faster to read for me but may not be that accurate... don't know x_X), but that's something I have to find out - maybe with buying one of the comics in both languages and comparing them with each other XDSo... thank you for your looks into "That's all I'm saying", it's very helpfull for me and I'm sure I'm not alone. Also, I wanted to ask about the Pollo Contest, but I see right now that someone allready asked, so, I'll wait for an answer on this XD
Glad to see you are enjoying Frankenstein as much as I do Also, you are missing-out of Red Lanterns
Have you been picking up the mini-serieses? Huntress and Penguin came out this week. Huntress is good old-fashioned street level hero fun, and Penguin is depraved old-fashioned villianry. The other minis are only on their first issue so far. Legion of Super-heroes Secret Origin was really decompressed, My Greatest Adventure is an anthology of really bizarre (but fun) stuff, and the Shade--I know you mentioned you liked that one, so I don't need to pimp it anymore, do I? Unless others in your comments are interested. Erudite supervillain seems to be coming to terms with his immortality. Like I said, it's only one issue in, and this one's a 12 issue miniseries, so the cliffhanger at the end of issue one proves it could go any way.
I picked up Batman the Brave and the Bold as a one-off as well, and because it had Stephanie in it since she happens to be my favourite character. So I hope we get to see her properly at some boint in the new DCU
Sake, I'm working on a double feature of Atop the Fourth Wall. I don't have time to travel to my comic shop to pick up ONE comic they may not have on hand because Diamond screwed up in shipping to them or whatever other reason.I love Demon Knights, but in the end it's a fictional story that has no larger bearing on my life. And by the way, I don't know how long you've been here, Sake, but I've been pushing for digital comics for YEARS. I am a STRONG proponent of digital comics and yes, I'm going to be buying Demon Knights #3 digitally. I have not been "corrupted" by a service that I have WANTED for several years now.
Ceeewwl! I'm glad to see this back! And, I don't mind it being once every 2-3 weeks if it's more confertible for you maaan! If you want you can just do the show like this tell us about 3-4 good books we SHOULD read and tell us about 2-3 books we should void if any! That'd be perfectly fine with me! :DI'd like to read the Green Lantern and Mr. Terrific. I like old school comics from the 80s and back!
Just another Biased ass DC fan boy why don't you get a real fucking job that actually does a service. Because your shitty writing and your failing attempts at story telling are not cutting it. I can't wait until you fail at this and then you have no options left. Because well lets face you are a goddamn hypocritical piece of shit.
"Just another Biased ass DC fan boy why don't you get a real fucking job that actually does a service. Because your shitty writing and your failing attempts at story telling are not cutting it. I can't wait until you fail at this and then you have no options left. Because well lets face you are a goddamn hypocritical piece of shit."Didn't you make this exact same post a while ago?Man, you're stuck on repeats.
Afraid of change much Lewis you goddamn piece of shit?
You know I am right you know what you do does not constitute as an actual job. You provide no service or any shit like that you live off your parents and you ride the dick of Noah Antwiler because you are a little fucking scumbag.
Just from my perspective: I find it kinda sad, that people have to attack other people, calling them things, that we don't want to repeat here. What motivates people, to do that? Erm... sorry, I just wanted to know, if the "job" that you are doing - I mean the reviewing job - is just as "simple", as I think, that it would be - reading the comics, analyze them, trying to come up with a few clever lines (personally, from a fanfic-writing-point-of-view,I think, THOSE are the hardest.), and then play in front of a camera?I hardly doubt, that I could do that, I have my problems with writing my star trek - ncis - fanfic and post the chapters three times a week. And that is just writing, not voice acting.your job is harder, I am sure of that. So - just for interest sakes - might there be something like a "behind the scenes", where we can see you prepping a review? I think, it could be interesting, if it hasn't been already done. I am extremely new to that, just found your channel in june, I think, because I watched a review from SF-Debris, and then saw a link to your reviews.GreetsCal
Hi there, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your reviews, and the Entity saga was really amazing and thrilling.I admit that i'm a bit of a Buffy fan myself so I might get that comic sometime.
I am glad that you are going to continue this series. I know about TPBs and novels still need read. My list is a longer then yours but I have found getting around that problem. Have actually finally got around to reading older stuff. JLA: Act Of One. Though manga is getting way behind but with Shonen Jump going out of print may give me more a chance to read it maybe on a more royal place. :) GL accidentally picked up. Batgirl I continue to enjoy. Batwoman I agree with Flamebird thing. Buffy I can't believe my store forget to give me copy or didn't get it this week. Batman and Robin I didn't pick up because of Damien as always. Frankstein not really interested in him either. Better characters that could be starring in a book. Batman Brave and Bold. Cartoon has become a favorite of mine and I think it's majorly underrated. Comic uses DC Universe even more then the cartoon with characters like Powergirl that made appearences. Mr. Terriffic I wish they would stop dancing around Karen Star/Power Girl issue. What do you expect from company that has no problem going fu to loyal fans with the reboot. Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck I will miss too and almost made me want to cry a bit. Sad marvel will most likely just reprint the Boom stuff and not publish anything new with characters or any they been given to by Disney on silver pladder.
@November 11, 2011 5:09 PMAs one anonymous to another, I must tell you that this was the most pathetic comment I've seen today Please, say something productive, or don't say anything ever again Whatever your agenda is, you are damaging it by your utter lack of communication skills or basic human dignityOn another not to Mr. LinkaraWhat do you think of the new Green Lantern animated series?
Good information.Sad to see Darkwing Duck come to an end. Fortunately, Marvel has been reprinting Boom Studios' Pixar and Muppets comics. I expect they'll do the same for Darkwing Duck and Ducktales, along with the other Disney comics published by Boom.
"So - just for interest sakes - might there be something like a "behind the scenes", where we can see you prepping a review? I think, it could be interesting, if it hasn't been already done. I am extremely new to that, just found your channel in june, I think, because I watched a review from SF-Debris, and then saw a link to your reviews."I've thought about it before, but the truth is that the process is relatively boring. XD The longest stretches of time for it are writing and editing (with the exception of storyline segments, since those take longer to perform and edit). However, if you REALLY want to see a behind-the-scenes of someone who cares about the craft of doing these reviews to a professional level, with multiple camera angles, a complete tech setup for their game reviews, and going through the process step-by-step, The Angry Video Game Nerd actually did a "Making Of" episode that detailed all the steps. AT4W is not quite as involved as his considering the level of work he puts into it, but then again they're different shows.http://www.gametrailers.com/video/the-making-screwattack/717056As for the Anonymous Troll, I tend to respond to trolls on my blog primarily because it's good practice in deconstructing garbage. However, he's just making the same stupid points he did the last time he showed up, so I direct this individual (and subsequently anyone else who gives a crap about what he had to say) back to the last time they brought this nonsense up. What video was it? Hell if I remember - frankly with trolls like this they have so little impact on my day to day life I had actually forgotten this idiot existed until they posted the same damn thing they had posted before. I think it was like two months ago? I don't know, I think it was in response to another That's All I'm Saying, just search for how I'm biased in favor of DC Comics.Subsequently, Mr. McTrollerpants, Seeing as you have nothing new to bring to your material, I'm not going to let any more of your posts through on this argument. See you in two months, dumbass.
"If Marvel wanted to, they COULD have a Teen Titans style book like Young Allies. However, I think Avengers Academy may fill that role more since they've now shifted gears a LOT."Avengers Academy's new status quo has me very excited. This could be the book that unifies could finally give all the Young Marvel heroes clear direction.I know your trade waiting this book Linkara, but I'll tell you now, there's a lot of great stuff coming your way. Including a twist that is under your nose that you won't notice until hindsight kicks in.
AT4W is not quite as involved as his considering the level of work he puts into it, but then again they're different shows. I knew that the Nerd did something like that, I watched and enjoyed it, and my thought process was, that maybe it would be like that. Just wanted to know - silly old me is a bit curious. ^^Another thing, that would be interesting, is, how exactly you came up with the idea of the overall storyline, plot relevant episodes etc, because, when I read Uncle Wiki Pedia correctly, there are only a few others on the team "the guy with glasses" that do that. I did see it on three reviews from the nostalgia chick, that they had a story arc about her, wanting to do other things than girly-stuff, but, like I said, if Uncle Wiki is right, then there are only a few, who have a story arc. So... curious Cal is asking himself: Why did Linkara do that. Not, that it would not be interesting what you are doing, but... you know, it is plain old curiousity. Oh, by the way, I am the same guy, that send you the email concerning "Detektiv Conan", just for information, and... I remembered, that I found in a german comic shop an english stargate comic, which was apparently written after the movie, but before the series. Coincidentally it had a character, that remembered me of Sam Carter, just a bit more badass. ^^And I hope, that "coincidentally" is written correctly. Sometimes I have just to work out the kinks on english language, because - like I said - it I am no native speaker. And - you could call me biased in a way, too. Like I said, I am a fanfiction-author and I could say "Hulk smash", when I read MSTings. I absolutely don't like the idea, that some people sit there, and make fun about stories, no matter how idiotic and badly written the stories are. On the other hand I like MST (the series and the movies), I like your work, but, you know, the difference is, that the people, you make fun of... well, they got money for it. They got frakking paid. Fanfic authors don't.Oh damn, I sound like a character from Battlestar. ^^ By the way, nice Doctor Who Cosplay on the live vid... I just know all of the eleventh doctors from the history on Doctor Who from SFdebris - personnaly, I have seen Eccleston, Tennant, Smith... And I liked them all.Okay, back to topic... the english stargate comic is... well, I think, that would be something, where you would say, it is a lot of padding... patting?... erm... you say that word a lot, but, how is it written? Like I said, no native speaker over here. ^^But it is okay - the comic, I mean.Anyway, gotta go, it is early in the morning over here.Greets Cal
I was joking about the "being corrupted by" part, i start giving my thoughts and comments only recently and i really missed the "buying digitally" kind of solution for things that happen when the distributor screwed things up at the local bookstore. Anyway Across the Jungle Cities of Brazil, the Kazakhstan's Travelling Camel Hords, the Freaking Raining Suburbs of Liverpool and all the way across the World Wide Web the Hooded Claws are strong proponents of read first and buy it when the book deserved to be buy it and the company made it available in my neighborhood without picking up the money from my pocket at gun point.I really missed the fact that when you say reading digitally you already imply "buying digitally" also. Sorry for this misunderstanding. Back on topic and i quote : "I'm working on a double feature of Atop the Fourth Wall. I don't have time...", it's not about time for you to stop playing with holograms and start to, let's say, recruit a real crew to help you with the Fourth Wall ? I know it's your show, people want to see and listen to you, etc, etc... but probably the League-of-one sort of job may be working it's tool on you and without you there is nothing to show anymore because you are the main character here.Let's face it : "Who wants to watch Star Trek without Captain Kirk, Captain Picard or Captain Sisko in their respective shows ?" Nobody, but all this guys had their own crews to get the job done, i am just suggesting you could add some pro-bono helpers on behind the scenes instead of burning your candle from both ends on a daily basis, you must take better care of yourself. Liz is a good start as a regular cast member and behind the scenes field agent and she can be probably a great Number One too, the trouble is who's next and what he or she can do ?P.S.: No more holographic reflections of your own character please, there are so many already that may be about to became unionized and start to ask for more power switches and mobile emitters.Strong Proponent of Comics going Digitalized you say : is that kind of thinking that made Bio-Dreads like Soaron and Blastarr proud (i hope the nerd reference is not too ancient geekery for you but the in-joke still fits like a glove, indulge yourself and Google It please).
For those curious, Anonymous dingbat made two more posts about how worthless I and Channel Awesome are, citing how I evidently rely on my parent's home and money (yet I moved out well over a year ago, but I'd guess he doesn't watch my videos, so kudos there for not getting that) and how anyone who offers constructive feedback is labeled a troll, because of course calling me gay and telling me I'm worthless is oh-so constructive and not trolling at all.He then challenged me to meet him face to face at a time and place of my choosing. I, however, have better things to do then wait for someone who I'm 99% certain wouldn't show up anyway, because anyone who would waste time and money travelling to Minnesota to "meet me face to face" (and accomplish WHAT exactly? A physical brawl? More yelling and insults? What?) is going to be as dumb as wet toast. And since making this is further distracting me, I will no longer relay any of their messages, either. Hope you guys liked the That's All I'm Saying for this week.
Hey Linkara, would you mind telling me briefly what you thought of Teen Titans #2 and Green Lantern New Guardians?I wasn't going to pick up The New Guardians just because I didn't have enough money on me to get that and lunch, but then I saw Tim Drake wearing a Green Lantern T-shirt and figured it was a sign. No food for me, but it was worth it to see Kyle Rayner become a Rainbow Lantern.
"Hey Linkara, would you mind telling me briefly what you thought of Teen Titans #2 and Green Lantern New Guardians?I wasn't going to pick up The New Guardians just because I didn't have enough money on me to get that and lunch, but then I saw Tim Drake wearing a Green Lantern T-shirt and figured it was a sign. I am curious about the Kid Flash scenes, though, and I agree on the coolness of Kyle's rainbow status.
Worthless they say ??? Coward Faceless Scumsuckers, i don't know how can you still allowed this kind of tasteless dickery goes along so far. Lewis your are probably braver than and with a mind set discipline that rivals Leonard Nimoy himself (and he dares to direct William Shatner twice, he is braver than i thought).I would like to defy you for a face to face on line duel on the MMORPG of your preference anytime you may be available because :A) Called that Channel as Awesome is well deserved;B) You guys are an inspiration, anything else good coming from that is an direct consequence of your hard work and quality services;C) A Face to Face on Real Life and Real Time demands a budget beyond my wildest dreams;and D) Despite the fact you live in the slightest at the left corner State closer to the infamous Wisconsin's Slave Salt Mines of The Eternal Frozen North of Doom, that doesn't mean Minnesota is not freaking cold as well because is just slightly at the left on the map, Thanks God i live in the far South of the South where snow is the stuff of the legend.Back In Topic : how many of the "New" 52's survive your scrutiny so far and remain as desirable comics to be buy it, keep it and read it ?Can you provide a list when and if you have time please ? Thanks in Advance.P.S.: Captain Power and The Soldiers of the Future could had been the one and only Real American Power Rangers instead of the actual stock footage rippers and that's a shame.
RE: Green Lantern #3I wonder if the portrayal of Hal since the relaunch is indicative of an upcoming deconstruction of his character, because what's really coming through here is that poor Hal has no idea what to do with his life outside of the ring. Conversely, as much as I like Sinestro, I do kind of want to see his Corps smack him around a bit; they have a legitimate beef with him. From the start, the cause they've sworn their lives and loyalty to was pretty much just a ploy for Sinestro to strengthen the Corps he really cares about. I'd like to see Akrillo, Romat or Karu Sil call him out on this. And finally, while the Guardians may be douchy little smurfs, the idea of a "third army" is such a brilliantly simple one that I'm surprised it wasn't ever used before now.
My store ran out of Brave and the Bold 13 before I could get it, dangit! But I'm glad you gave it a try, because I enjoy its more lighthearted tone, and I have yet to even watch the cartoon. If you can, I highly recommend getting a back issue of #10 of this series; the story and message it sends is REALLY good, especially for a comic that's mainly aimed at young readers.
Okay, Now that I have completely played Arkham City all the way through, I can safely say BUY IT NOW!This Game is absolutely awesome. It's so awesome that I only need five words to summarize it.BATMAN PUNCHES OUT A SHARKTell me that isn't bad-ass, Linkara
"For those curious, Anonymous dingbat made two more posts about how worthless I and Channel Awesome are, citing how I evidently rely on my parent's home and money (yet I moved out well over a year ago, but I'd guess he doesn't watch my videos, so kudos there for not getting that) and how anyone who offers constructive feedback is labeled a troll, because of course calling me gay and telling me I'm worthless is oh-so constructive and not trolling at all.He then challenged me to meet him face to face at a time and place of my choosing. And by that I mean there would be more than a few people willing to stand with you. Come to think of it, maybe we should assemble some kind of Internet strike force to fight the trolls out there. We could call ourselves the Billy Goats Gruff!!!
I read all (at this time) 34 comments and I noticed 2 things. 1: a troll, and 2: a lot of ppl have mentioned X-Men when it wasn't mentioned.Near the end someone asked what I was going to ask about Teen Titans #2, so I don't have to ask that now. I still have a question though.Have you been fallowing "DC Universe: Online Legends"? I find it rather amusing but incredibly dumb in some places. If it's dumb enough, any chance of seeing it on AT4W done like Countdown?1 more question. Are you still planning on reviewing "Salvation Run"?
Im not sure if you follow the forums of CBR but if you havent let me just tell you that im probably the Biggest Hater of Mr Terrific everthat said, you are the very first person to actually like this book to put an actual reasonable explanation of why you like itif you look at those forums most ppl just say, I like it, and dont really say much but you not saying basically nothing nailed itpersonally i cannot stand the writing, the dialog is awful, the retcon of the GPS doesnt make any sense and it just takes the impact of the drunk driver origin but if you say, its cause its an 80s, i think i get why you like iti still hate the thing, but i understand youi really hold your opinion very highly so please ignore that douguebag and keep doing what you doGreat Job lewisand 2 more things1 is I, like the other guy(s) recommend you the Penguin miniseries, is just like Joker by Azzarello or Lex Luthor: Man of Steel, Excellent Art compelling story, Best book this week for meand secondthe LSH/Startrek crossovernot a big fan of Star Trek, but i think you might find it interesting, issue 2 was this week
Its amazing how you spin the truth Lewis
@AnonNovember 11, 2011 5:14 PMAt the moment the only scumbag on this thread is you Being an entertainer or reviewer, even if self-employed, does count as a job Maybe not a very useful one in the greater picture of humanity, but it still brings in money I'm more than sure that you are an even more worthless, since you have to fix your low self-esteem by harassing an on-line entertainser Seriously, you are as pathetic as you can get
quoting :I'm liking Teen Titans,...okay that's reasonably fine...though sometimes I need to remind myself that it IS Teen Titans since it's so different from all the teams that have come before. ...still reasonable considering the fair criticism and the fan fact factor card you can pull out of your sleeve...I am curious about the Kid Flash scenes, though, and I agree on the coolness of Kyle's rainbow status. ...that single word made me speechless, you must be the living incarnation of criticism fairness, i don't know why DC didn't hired you yet. You probably can be a good lawyer if you want and i really meant it...There is an outburst of words coming from my mind right now but since you decide to keep the TAIS alive and well i will consider the Peace Treaty Agreement as a precedent guideline for the kind of criticism i allowed my self to deliver when your opinions about some comics rivals the opinion of guys like let's say Michael Bay about his own movies.Every person has the right to have their own opinion and i will keep mine to my self because you made me speechless with just one word.Quoting Captain Kirk on Wrath of Khan : COOOOOLLLLNESS!!!!
Heya, just another question, sorry, if I annoy but - there is just this one question.I am reading "Batgirl" #3 consisting of "batgirl rising - the flood" part 1 to 4. There is a guy, who is called "the calculator" and he is torturing another guy called "Kid eternity".Now, I know some comic-characters, but "Kid Eternity" was someone, I have no idea of.Could someone help me? Who is this guy, and why is Babs concerned about him. And is "Noah" the first Name of the calculator? *blinks in confusion*thank you in advancegreetsCalvin
I forget Linkara did you drop Grant Morrison's Superman? Because I want to hear more about that.
Linkara, i'm really sorry to hear that your getting spamed by a bunch of trolls.BTW what did you think of All Star Western and Flash #2? The flash book had some amazing art work.
"I forget Linkara did you drop Grant Morrison's Superman? Because I want to hear more about that."I did, sorry. I am really not into his Action Comics run. If others like it, that's fine, but I have not enjoyed it.
First off, i'd like to thank you, Linkara. I've been a fan of AT4W for a while now, but I had never really read comic books. It was earlier episodes of That's All I'm Saying that convinced me to use DC's New 52 to finally get into comics. Now I'm reading like 30 something series a month... So yeah, thanks for doing these videos. I look forward to continuing to hear your opinions on the books you pick up.I agree with a lot of what you said in this video. This was a pretty good week. Batgirl was good and I'm mostly in the same boat when it comes to Batman and Robin. Our opinions differ somewhat elsewhere though; I think Batwoman has been just brilliant and it is among my absolute favorites I'm reading. Also, I am not quite as wowed by Frankenstein; it's kind of middle of the road for me (though I do still enjoy it).Oh, and not sure you've gotten to it yet, but Demon Knights was definitely one of my favorite comics I read this week. I think in a lot of ways it was the best issue of the book so far.And for the record, this week I also really liked The Huntress (favorite book I'm reading in a lot of ways; sad it's just a mini), Resurrection Man, Superboy and Suicide Squad this week.
Probably thanks to the lack of time looks like you forget JLI #3, not that i really liked by the way.Looks like the story is finally getting itself on track despite inherent structural flaws like Greedo shots first and PR Eextraordinaire and Wall Street Poster Boy of the Certain Doom aka Booster Gold is the appointed team leader by reasons beyond my ability to link the missing dots.I wonder what you have to say about the issue when you have the time for it.Just to made it clear i like Booster Gold and i am a fan of classic JLI, i just don't like the way the New 52's version has been written so far and i am not against bright colors either but ...grinding teeths... a Rainbow ...clenching jaw... Lantern ??? *add your favorite righteous indignation picture here*That's what Clearly Loudly at All We have to say : "No!"
I have to keep reminding myself that Batwoman isn't written by Rucka now but I loved Elegy so I will get the trade. (If my money wasn't tight I would pick up the issues) but I have a pretty big pull list right now. I'm going to pick up Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern (maybe) Red Lantern Corps (maybe) and Action Comics. I value your opinion heavily so I might sample books you recommend like Batgirl but I actually find Gail Simone to be very overrated. Her writing is solid but I find some of her plots to be weak and I didn't care for her Secret Six run aside from the first trades.
"Probably thanks to the lack of time looks like you forget JLI #3, not that i really liked by the way."He didn't forget, that came out last week.Anyway, Link, great segment. Glad to hear you arn't going to drop this segment (except for when your schedal gets really hectic). Also, gotta love how we both picked up Brave and the Bold #13 on a whim. XD
http://frankmillerink.com/2011/11/anarchyi dont know where to put this...but its miller time, a dark and sad miller time.
Did someone punk Gail Simone? I notice at no time is the name "Dick" used in reference to Nightwing. Just Richard, as if someone said, "we aren't using the d-word anymore."
I know Lewis probably didn't forget to check the storylines he liked Alex.We just didn't listen or read anything he has to say about JLI #3 yet and i blame his lack of time on that for do it so and that's ok because he has a lot of work to do on keeping this show just going on.Lewis is just a human being limited by the laws of physics. Nothing like some New 52's characters who should have die already several times fighting against overwhelming odds in a monthly basis like Tim Drake, Ollie...something, i forget his real name despite the characters CoOLlNeeSSS..argh, Barbara Gordon, Bruce Wayne, and a few others i didn't read yet and those are just the "HUMANE" ones, image what they have in store for the metahumans who are NOT FROM KRYPTON!!!I know, i know, those are comic books, and as everybody knows a well regulated fictional environment being necessary to the security of a free state of mind, the right of the people to keep a little bit of suspension of disbelief shall not be infringed. And even keeping that in mind i have to deal with Batgirl hitting the door of a car with her butt in full impact and walk away in high heels like nothing happened except a few ribs broken ??? No Way !Once i ask if everybody was from Krypton now but i guess i was wrong, they are not from Krypton, they are from Warner Brothers and therefore everybody is subject to Wile E. Coyote sort of reality and physical endurance now, the writers can do whatever they want except killing the main character because if they die you can't torture them anymore.Torture dead people is not sadistic, is necrophiliac and necrophilia is for perverts only.If you are a pervert go to TMC, Warner Brothers only deals with healthy sadistic producers and the masochist audiences who follows them urging for the next big hit.Back on topic : Lewis, if you don't say or write anything about issue #something of the A,B or C storyline that means you drop the book and is not following anymore ? And if is that the case which ones are you still buying and reading ?
What is a "Rainbow lantern"? A lantern, that responds to all emotions? That gets its power of all of them? Hopefully, I won't be verbally decapitated now, when I say, that is sounds a bit gary-stu-ish to me. But perhaps, that is just plan, simple, me. GreetsCal
You're starting to sound like you're getting tired of explaining to people they should read the comments before they comment.
I didn't see this in the comments for this episode, but it may have been asked before - have you been reading the IDW Star Trek comics (either based on the new films or some of the earlier ones like John Byrne's series of mini-series)?As I've had to stop reading comics entirely for a bit since the economy finally caught up with me (read: I got laid off), I'm be interested to see how the IDW comics are doing, but I don't have the money to buy them myself. Unfortunately, nobody's talking about them, which makes finding out how the comics are doing fairly difficult.Anyway, thanks for doing more TAIS, and I look forward to the next episode of both this and AtFW.
I ASKED MY LOCAL COMIC STORE OWNER-DEMON KNIGHTS IS SELLING WELL!(at least here in CA)Good to see that TAIS is back. It's like the evening news for new comic wednesday. It gives more weight to the the events we read about that day.Frankensteins a pimp!and my personal favorite of the relaunch. you're explaining how he killed the giant spider wrong. He didnt JUST do that old cliche of gettin eaten and killing the monster from inside(like Disney's Hercules or Clash of the Titans 2010) Look at the page!He went in,GRABBED the heart with his right hand, cut his way out with the giant sword in his left hand,Then dashed out of it,DRAGGING THE HEART.(It was even attached to a tube that looked important.)Then he stabbed the heart. So,he pulled a giant spider's heart out of its chest.and stabbed it.awesome.
Penguin:Pain and Predjudice isnt that great, both issues are the same almost. The writer tries to make penguin seem threatening, then details of his past THAT COME OUT OF NOWHERE and don't ring true on a character level which are more like the writer just trying to be gross, dreary artwork,Then the 4th,3rd and 2nd to last page(IN BOTH ISSUES)are a montage of the Penguin indirectly killing alot.giving Batman rogues a mini-series is cool tho.I hope they do Scarecrow. You and Nostalgia Chick FUCKING NEED TO CROSSOVER AND REVIEW CATWOMAN 2004.I can't believe you haven't already.
Another good, informative episode. I always like to hear your take on comics, even in condensed form it's not really lacking in reason or detail. Good job. I also like that you put effort into storylines for the ATFW reviews, they're quite good and not only have an appropriately comic book-esque sense of continuity and approach but help distinguish your show from other reviewers on TGWTG, making it more unique. Now for my big question: have you read any of the All-New Ultimate Comics Spider-Man so far? I know ever since One More Day you've been fairly soured on anything recent involving Spider-Man (which I did read myself, and honestly I didn't mind it, though I totally understand your feelings towards it since you've been a hardcore fan for a long time, and I just read the entire Stracynski run over the summer). But I've gotta say, after just 2 issues I was totally won over by Miles Morales' story to becoming the new Spider-Man. Issue 4 came out recently and I absolutely loved it, especially now that the action's starting and they've gotten him to finally become the new Spider-Man (albeit one wearing an $80 Halloween costume bought by his friend Ganke- the scene where he gets it is truly hilarious, and a perfect example of Brian Michael Bendis' strengths as a writer). I'm especially interested to hear what your thoughts are on Miles' origin setup, where in #4 they've established Peter as Miles' Uncle Ben, his death motivating Miles to use his newfound powers he's been given but too afraid to embrace (the explanation and connection to Peter's world makes it sound a lot better than how I just described it). I also adore Sara Pichelli's truly wonderful artwork, with a style that's seemingly simple at first yet filled with details and highly expressive. It also helps set it apart from the original USM run, which I plan to collect in volumes soon. Killing Peter Parker and having him replaced was a ballsy choice, but I'd say it's paid off really well. The new lead and supporting cast, along with their connections to characters from the past iteration of the series gives the book a feel that's a bit familiar yet entirely fresh, with a very promising outlook as for what's to come. Honestly, I'm actually hoping they keep Peter dead if it means more issues as good as the ones so far. Also, this new Spider-Man can turn invisible. Yes, really. He also has a Venom Shock ability that can inflict paralysis. Thoughts?
"As I've had to stop reading comics entirely for a bit since the economy finally caught up with me (read: I got laid off), I'm be interested to see how the IDW comics are doing, but I don't have the money to buy them myself. Unfortunately, nobody's talking about them, which makes finding out how the comics are doing fairly difficult.Anyway, thanks for doing more TAIS, and I look forward to the next episode of both this and AtFW."I've bought the trade, but haven't had a chance to read through them yet.
I have to say, out of the three I bought this week (Batman and Robin #3, Demon Knights #3, and Batgirl #3), Batgirl was by far the very weakest. As I read the issue I could not help but feel it was a lot of exposition (seriously, I'm trying to get why Nightwing was in this issue). I was glad to know that Barbara's recovery may not be as permanent as we've come to think (although the quicker Simone gets into more detail on this "miracle" thing, the better). And finally, what may be preventing me from fully enjoying this book is that annoying thought in the back of my head going "Weren't you having more fun when Barbara was Oracle and Cassandra/Stephanie was Batgirl?"*shrug* I just don't know.
Answering my own question and briefly reviewing the whole TAIS so far Lewis reviewed all New 52's #1's comic books then drop away more than half of them and so far at the beginning of the reboot crap third month only 6 comics deserved any kind of attention. Despite any schedule improvements i guess you are going to keep things this way Lewis unless of course a miracle happen, DC Comics take over the world and Frank Miller give up drawing and writing to become a farmer in some lost Amish community around the Wastelands of the Frozen North American Glacier Lakes of Eternal Certain Doom know as MidWest America and Canada - my own country is known stereotypically as a Wastelands of Humid Tropical Jungles of Eternal Certain Doom know as Brazil and some latino non-united states at the left corner of the map, free yourself to mock about.Anyway i going taking a shot my self, i will read all New 52's from #1 and ahead and see how many i'm going to following and how many i'm gonna keep reading just because i love to hate them. The tasks ahead are : how many comics an average guy can read on a regular basis without going nuts ?As rules i'm going to read them all digitally, cover to cover versions if i can find it on line and my job, family and social life and home chores must not suffer any delay in order to "simulate" a Lovhaugish environment of 24/7 busyness and resolute entertain's man Craftmanshipment - i guess i bend a few grammar rules here.Let's see what may be done and report later.Meanwhile : Lewis, do you have any plans to read Knights of the Living Dead #01 ? Looks like the kind of thing you would like take a sneak peek.
how many comics an average guy can read on a regular basis without going nuts ?Excellent question - without getting paid for it, I’d say as much as the financial situation allows that average guy to do so, then it gets tricky. When he gets paid, that is another discussion: Then I’d say, as many as necessary.
What do you think of the newest Deadpool story. I remember that you said the last one was more sad than funny, but I think this newest one is hilarious.
I find Barbra more appealing to look at and a more interesting character so if she stops being Batgirl I'm out of this book. Her inner monologue and dialogue thus far in the Bargirl books have been good to read. Her roommate's dialogue? No so much.
Hm. I like that picture from the final Darkwing Duck issue, it is a bit spoilery for those of us who have only been reading the trades. Then again, a certain character's presence in that picture also serves to whet my appetite for that final storyline. And it's a relief to see that the events at the close of "FOWL Disposition" aren't permanent (okay, granted, it's comic books, who thought it would be?).
Sad that Darkwing Duck and Ducktales came to an end, but Disney's contract with BOOM!(Or KABOOM! now) has ended. Here's hoping when Marvel starts publishing Disney related stuff they pick up the series where it left off.On Batgirl #3, I enjoyed it a lot. Even though Nightwing didn't add much to the storyline, I love seeing his ass getting kick by Babs because I'm not a fan of Dick Grayson. Overall, I'm glad that you have no plans on ending TAIS, it's great show for giving brief reviews on recent comics.P.S. It's great that you dropped Action Comics because the last issue was bad and it looks like it wont recover. I'm dropping it too.
Hey Linkara great look at the comics! Im really enjoying them! I was wondering if you could TAIS On DC Nation shorts? Or just text reviews? Thanks!
Linkara, are you still picking up Aquaman? I just read the first two issues and found them superb!
Can you make a list of what comics you're picking up every month? I don't know why, but I really want to know.

I'm wondering if on the weeks you don't have time to record an episode of that's all I'm saying if you could do a brief text summary of your opinions on the books, as its always nice to hear your thoughts on it.
I thought Batman and Robin was awesome, good character stuff, good action and great art.
Green Lantern is getting better with each issue and I am looking forward to seeing where this story goes (also I hope the next big GL event won't have to include Red Lanterns, because I don't want to have to admit to owning any copies of that...)
also Penguin: Pain and Prejudice, I can't reccomend this miniseries enough, it is just brilliant
Hello, there,
hence I am a bit behind the new stuff, because it is not published here, yet, all I can say, is that the batgirl comics, with Steph Brown being batgirl are really good. Liked the sense of humour in those and - hell, I think, I will be looking, if Amazon has the new Darkwing Duck Comics, because I really liked the show. ^^
Definitely interesting video, I hope, the 52-comics will be published in my home country soon. Looking forward to them.

However, I think Avengers Academy may fill that role more since they've now shifted gears a LOT.
It's just a shame that Young Allies never really found the audience.
Will be reading it digitally when I have more time.
WTF??? What happened with "PLEASE HELP TO KEEP THIS COMIC GOING ON FOREVER BY ACTUALLY BUYING THIS BOOK ?"
Me and my Team read comic books digitally because we are foreigners with no budget to expend with buying and import the real thing, we may be thieves but we are the kind of thieves who stolen the seeds from Nothingham and give it back to the poor, we are Hooded Claws - go figured it.
For a passionated fun from a few weeks ago this digital move looks like a shoot in the foot, not something really made to complain about but a bad P.R. move anyway.
Readers Across the Top of the Fourth Wall Please Buy it Demon Knights #3 and following issues, it's a good damn book so far, forget what Lewis said about go digitally because that was probably bad edited - slow down Lewis, you are obviously tired and didn't really mean it when you write that.
Thanks God Christmas is coming.
P.S.: Thanks for keep the TAIS Alive ! And if you like it you buy it, unless of course you can't, like when somebody is like you and the budget don't allowed or when someone else is like us and we have conflicted interests about and really stretched moral fibers concerning "DC COMICS GREATEST MISTAKES AND THE REASONS WHY WE DON'T BUY IT".
Did you see it DC ? It's not just us, even Lewis can became tired enough to be corrupted by your digital vices. Praise for the heavens if he stays lawful good after his 20's.
I think it's fine if you take your time on these and release them when it feels right for you. I think they're very helpfull, as I am someone who never really started to read comics. I tried out with X-Men some years ago, since I always liked them on TV and such, but I was thrown in the middle of the action and with Jean Grey gone and replaced by her and Scott's daughter from another reality... I couldn't really set my foot into it and over the months I stopped because of this.
I gave up on US Comics untill I came across tgwtg and saw your reviews. I'm still unsure about getting the original US version or the german version (which is faster to read for me but may not be that accurate... don't know x_X), but that's something I have to find out - maybe with buying one of the comics in both languages and comparing them with each other XD
So... thank you for your looks into "That's all I'm saying", it's very helpfull for me and I'm sure I'm not alone.
Also, I wanted to ask about the Pollo Contest, but I see right now that someone allready asked, so, I'll wait for an answer on this XD
Glad to see you are enjoying Frankenstein as much as I do
Also, you are missing-out of Red Lanterns
I don't have time to travel to my comic shop to pick up ONE comic they may not have on hand because Diamond screwed up in shipping to them or whatever other reason.
I love Demon Knights, but in the end it's a fictional story that has no larger bearing on my life.
I'd like to read the Green Lantern and Mr.
Didn't you make this exact same post a while ago?
Man, you're stuck on repeats.
Erm... sorry, I just wanted to know, if the "job" that you are doing - I mean the reviewing job - is just as "simple", as I think, that it would be - reading the comics, analyze them, trying to come up with a few clever lines (personally, from a fanfic-writing-point-of-view,I think, THOSE are the hardest.), and then play in front of a camera?
I hardly doubt, that I could do that, I have my problems with writing my star trek - ncis - fanfic and post the chapters three times a week. And that is just writing, not voice acting.
your job is harder, I am sure of that. So - just for interest sakes - might there be something like a "behind the scenes", where we can see you prepping a review? I think, it could be interesting, if it hasn't been already done. I am extremely new to that, just found your channel in june, I think, because I watched a review from SF-Debris, and then saw a link to your reviews.

Hi there, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your reviews, and the Entity saga was really amazing and thrilling.
I admit that i'm a bit of a Buffy fan myself so I might get that comic sometime.

As one anonymous to another, I must tell you that this was the most pathetic comment I've seen today

What do you think of the new Green Lantern animated series?
Good information.
Sad to see Darkwing Duck come to an end.
I've thought about it before, but the truth is that the process is relatively boring.
AT4W is not quite as involved as his considering the level of work he puts into it, but then again they're different shows.

As for the Anonymous Troll, I tend to respond to trolls on my blog primarily because it's good practice in deconstructing garbage.
I don't know, I think it was in response to another That's All I'm Saying, just search for how I'm biased in favor of DC Comics.
Subsequently, Mr. McTrollerpants, Seeing as you have nothing new to bring to your material, I'm not going to let any more of your posts through on this argument. See you in two months, dumbass.
"If Marvel wanted to, they COULD have a Teen Titans style book like Young Allies. However, I think Avengers Academy may fill that role more since they've now shifted gears a LOT."
Avengers Academy's new status quo has me very excited. This could be the book that unifies could finally give all the Young Marvel heroes clear direction.
I know your trade waiting this book Linkara, but I'll tell you now, there's a lot of great stuff coming your way. Including a twist that is under your nose that you won't notice until hindsight kicks in.
I knew that the Nerd did something like that, I watched and enjoyed it, and my thought process was, that maybe it would be like that. Just wanted to know - silly old me is a bit curious. ^^
Another thing, that would be interesting, is, how exactly you came up with the idea of the overall storyline, plot relevant episodes etc, because, when I read Uncle Wiki Pedia correctly, there are only a few others on the team "the guy with glasses" that do that.
And I hope, that "coincidentally" is written correctly.
Fanfic authors don't.
Oh damn, I sound like a character from Battlestar. ^^ By the way, nice Doctor Who Cosplay on the live vid... I just know all of the eleventh doctors from the history on Doctor Who from SFdebris - personnaly, I have seen Eccleston, Tennant, Smith...
And I liked them all.
Okay, back to topic...
the english stargate comic is... well, I think, that would be something, where you would say, it is a lot of padding... patting?... erm... you say that word a lot, but, how is it written? Like I said, no native speaker over here. ^^
But it is okay - the comic, I mean.
Anyway, gotta go, it is early in the morning over here.

I was joking about the "being corrupted by" part, i start giving my thoughts and comments only recently and i really missed the "buying digitally" kind of solution for things that happen when the distributor screwed things up at the local bookstore.
Anyway Across the Jungle Cities of Brazil, the Kazakhstan's Travelling Camel Hords, the Freaking Raining Suburbs of Liverpool and all the way across the World Wide Web the Hooded Claws are strong proponents of read first and buy it when the book deserved to be buy it and the company made it available in my neighborhood without picking up the money from my pocket at gun point.
I really missed the fact that when you say reading digitally you already imply "buying digitally" also. Sorry for this misunderstanding.
Back on topic and i quote : "I'm working on a double feature of Atop the Fourth Wall. I don't have time...", it's not about time for you to stop playing with holograms and start to, let's say, recruit a real crew to help you with the Fourth Wall ?
I know it's your show, people want to see and listen to you, etc, etc... but probably the League-of-one sort of job may be working it's tool on you and without you there is nothing to show anymore because you are the main character here.
Let's face it : "Who wants to watch Star Trek without Captain Kirk, Captain Picard or Captain Sisko in their respective shows ?" Nobody, but all this guys had their own crews to get the job done, i am just suggesting you could add some pro-bono helpers on behind the scenes instead of burning your candle from both ends on a daily basis, you must take better care of yourself.
Liz is a good start as a regular cast member and behind the scenes field agent and she can be probably a great Number One too, the trouble is who's next and what he or she can do ?
P.S.: No more holographic reflections of your own character please, there are so many already that may be about to became unionized and start to ask for more power switches and mobile emitters.
Strong Proponent of Comics going Digitalized you say : is that kind of thinking that made Bio-Dreads like Soaron and Blastarr proud (i hope the nerd reference is not too ancient geekery for you but the in-joke still fits like a glove, indulge yourself and Google It please).
For those curious, Anonymous dingbat made two more posts about how worthless I and Channel Awesome are, citing how I evidently rely on my parent's home and money (yet I moved out well over a year ago, but I'd guess he doesn't watch my videos, so kudos there for not getting that) and how anyone who offers constructive feedback is labeled a troll, because of course calling me gay and telling me I'm worthless is oh-so constructive and not trolling at all.
He then challenged me to meet him face to face at a time and place of my choosing.
Hey Linkara, would you mind telling me briefly what you thought of Teen Titans #2 and Green Lantern New Guardians?
I wasn't going to pick up The New Guardians just because I didn't have enough money on me to get that and lunch, but then I saw Tim Drake wearing a Green Lantern T-shirt and figured it was a sign. No food for me, but it was worth it to see Kyle Rayner become a Rainbow Lantern.

I'm liking Teen Titans, though sometimes I need to remind myself that it IS Teen Titans since it's so different from all the teams that have come before. I am curious about the Kid Flash scenes, though, and I agree on the coolness of Kyle's rainbow status.
Worthless they say ??? Coward Faceless Scumsuckers, i don't know how can you still allowed this kind of tasteless dickery goes along so far.
Lewis your are probably braver than and with a mind set discipline that rivals Leonard Nimoy himself (and he dares to direct William Shatner twice, he is braver than i thought).
I would like to defy you for a face to face on line duel on the MMORPG of your preference anytime you may be available because :
A) Called that Channel as Awesome is well deserved;
B) You guys are an inspiration, anything else good coming from that is an direct consequence of your hard work and quality services;
C) A Face to Face on Real Life and Real Time demands a budget beyond my wildest dreams;
and D) Despite the fact you live in the slightest at the left corner State closer to the infamous Wisconsin's Slave Salt Mines of The Eternal Frozen North of Doom, that doesn't mean Minnesota is not freaking cold as well because is just slightly at the left on the map, Thanks God i live in the far South of the South where snow is the stuff of the legend.
Back In Topic : how many of the "New" 52's survive your scrutiny so far and remain as desirable comics to be buy it, keep it and read it ?
Can you provide a list when and if you have time please ? Thanks in Advance.
P.S.: Captain Power and The Soldiers of the Future could had been the one and only Real American Power Rangers instead of the actual stock footage rippers and that's a shame.
RE: Green Lantern #3
I wonder if the portrayal of Hal since the relaunch is indicative of an upcoming deconstruction of his character, because what's really coming through here is that poor Hal has no idea what to do with his life outside of the ring.
Okay, Now that I have completely played Arkham City all the way through, I can safely say BUY IT NOW!
This Game is absolutely awesome.
It's so awesome that I only need five words to summarize it.
BATMAN PUNCHES OUT A SHARK
Tell me that isn't bad-ass, Linkara
"For those curious, Anonymous dingbat made two more posts about how worthless I and Channel Awesome are, citing how I evidently rely on my parent's home and money (yet I moved out well over a year ago, but I'd guess he doesn't watch my videos, so kudos there for not getting that) and how anyone who offers constructive feedback is labeled a troll, because of course calling me gay and telling me I'm worthless is oh-so constructive and not trolling at all.

Somehow, Mr. Lovhaug, I doubt that if this dingbat did actually agree to meet you it would be a one-on-one fight.
1: a troll, and 2: a lot of ppl have mentioned X-Men when it wasn't mentioned.
Near the end someone asked what I was going to ask about Teen Titans #2, so I don't have to ask that now. I still have a question though.
Have you been fallowing "DC Universe: Online Legends"? I find it rather amusing but incredibly dumb in some places. If it's dumb enough, any chance of seeing it on AT4W done like Countdown?
1 more question. Are you still planning on reviewing "Salvation Run"?
Im not sure if you follow the forums of CBR but if you havent let me just tell you that im probably the Biggest Hater of Mr Terrific ever
that said, you are the very first person to actually like this book to put an actual reasonable explanation of why you like it
if you look at those forums most ppl just say, I like it, and dont really say much but you not saying basically nothing nailed it
personally i cannot stand the writing, the dialog is awful, the retcon of the GPS doesnt make any sense and it just takes the impact of the drunk driver origin
but if you say, its cause its an 80s, i think i get why you like it
i still hate the thing, but i understand you
i really hold your opinion very highly so please ignore that douguebag and keep doing what you do
Great Job lewis
and 2 more things
1 is I, like the other guy(s) recommend you the Penguin miniseries
, is just like Joker by Azzarello or Lex Luthor: Man of Steel, Excellent Art compelling story, Best book this week for me
and second
the LSH/Startrek crossover
not a big fan of Star Trek, but i think you might find it interesting, issue 2 was this week
Its amazing how you spin the truth Lewis

At the moment the only scumbag on this thread is you
Being an entertainer or reviewer, even if self-employed, does count as a job
Maybe not a very useful one in the greater picture of humanity, but it still brings in money
I'm more than sure that you are an even more worthless, since you have to fix your low self-esteem by harassing an on-line entertainser
Seriously, you are as pathetic as you can get
quoting :I'm liking Teen Titans,...okay that's reasonably fine...
though sometimes I need to remind myself that it IS Teen Titans since it's so different from all the teams that have come before. ...still reasonable considering the fair criticism and the fan fact factor card you can pull out of your sleeve...
I am curious about the Kid Flash scenes, though, and I agree on the coolness of Kyle's rainbow status. ...that single word made me speechless, you must be the living incarnation of criticism fairness, i don't know why DC didn't hired you yet. You probably can be a good lawyer if you want and i really meant it...
There is an outburst of words coming from my mind right now but since you decide to keep the TAIS alive and well i will consider the Peace Treaty Agreement as a precedent guideline for the kind of criticism i allowed my self to deliver when your opinions about some comics rivals the opinion of guys like let's say Michael Bay about his own movies.
Every person has the right to have their own opinion and i will keep mine to my self because you made me speechless with just one word.
Quoting Captain Kirk on Wrath of Khan : COOOOOLLLLNESS!!!!
Heya, just another question, sorry, if I annoy but - there is just this one question.
I am reading "Batgirl" #3 consisting of "batgirl rising - the flood" part 1 to 4. There is a guy, who is called "the calculator" and he is torturing another guy called "Kid eternity".
Now, I know some comic-characters, but "Kid Eternity" was someone, I have no idea of.
Could someone help me? Who is this guy, and why is Babs concerned about him. And is "Noah" the first Name of the calculator? *blinks in confusion*
thank you in advance
greets
Calvin
I forget Linkara did you drop Grant Morrison's Superman? Because I want to hear more about that.
Linkara, i'm really sorry to hear that your getting spamed by a bunch of trolls.
BTW what did you think of All Star Western and Flash #2? The flash book had some amazing art work.
"I forget Linkara did you drop Grant Morrison's Superman? Because I want to hear more about that."
I did, sorry.
I look forward to continuing to hear your opinions on the books you pick up.
I agree with a lot of what you said in this video. This was a pretty good week. Batgirl was good and I'm mostly in the same boat when it comes to Batman and Robin.
Our opinions differ somewhat elsewhere though; I think Batwoman has been just brilliant and it is among my absolute favorites I'm reading. Also, I am not quite as wowed by Frankenstein; it's kind of middle of the road for me (though I do still enjoy it).
Oh, and not sure you've gotten to it yet, but Demon Knights was definitely one of my favorite comics I read this week. I think in a lot of ways it was the best issue of the book so far.
And for the record, this week I also really liked The Huntress (favorite book I'm reading in a lot of ways; sad it's just a mini), Resurrection Man, Superboy and Suicide Squad this week.
Probably thanks to the lack of time looks like you forget JLI #3, not that i really liked by the way.
Looks like the story is finally getting itself on track despite inherent structural flaws like Greedo shots first and PR Eextraordinaire and Wall Street Poster Boy of the Certain Doom aka Booster Gold is the appointed team leader by reasons beyond my ability to link the missing dots.
I wonder what you have to say about the issue when you have the time for it.
Just to made it clear i like Booster Gold and i am a fan of classic JLI, i just don't like the way the New 52's version has been written so far and i am not against bright colors either but ...grinding teeths... a Rainbow ...clenching jaw... Lantern ???
*add your favorite righteous indignation picture here*
That's what Clearly Loudly at All We have to say : "No!"
"Probably thanks to the lack of time looks like you forget JLI #3, not that i really liked by the way."
He didn't forget, that came out last week.
Anyway, Link, great segment. Glad to hear you arn't going to drop this segment (except for when your schedal gets really hectic). Also, gotta love how we both picked up Brave and the Bold #13 on a whim. XD
http://frankmillerink.com/2011/11/anarchy
i dont know where to put this...but its miller time, a dark and sad miller time.
Did someone punk Gail Simone? I notice at no time is the name "Dick" used in reference to Nightwing. Just Richard, as if someone said, "we aren't using the d-word anymore."
I know Lewis probably didn't forget to check the storylines he liked Alex.
We just didn't listen or read anything he has to say about JLI #3 yet and i blame his lack of time on that for do it so and that's ok because he has a lot of work to do on keeping this show just going on.
Lewis is just a human being limited by the laws of physics.
Nothing like some New 52's characters who should have die already several times fighting against overwhelming odds in a monthly basis like Tim Drake, Ollie...something, i forget his real name despite the characters CoOLlNeeSSS..argh, Barbara Gordon, Bruce Wayne, and a few others i didn't read yet and those are just the "HUMANE" ones, image what they have in store for the metahumans who are NOT FROM KRYPTON!!!
I know, i know, those are comic books, and as everybody knows a well regulated fictional environment being necessary to the security of a free state of mind, the right of the people to keep a little bit of suspension of disbelief shall not be infringed.
And even keeping that in mind i have to deal with Batgirl hitting the door of a car with her butt in full impact and walk away in high heels like nothing happened except a few ribs broken ??? No Way !
Once i ask if everybody was from Krypton now but i guess i was wrong, they are not from Krypton, they are from Warner Brothers and therefore everybody is subject to Wile E. Coyote sort of reality and physical endurance now, the writers can do whatever they want except killing the main character because if they die you can't torture them anymore.
Torture dead people is not sadistic, is necrophiliac and necrophilia is for perverts only.
If you are a pervert go to TMC, Warner Brothers only deals with healthy sadistic producers and the masochist audiences who follows them urging for the next big hit.
Back on topic :
Lewis, if you don't say or write anything about issue #something of the A,B or C storyline that means you drop the book and is not following anymore ? And if is that the case which ones are you still buying and reading ?
What is a "Rainbow lantern"?
A lantern, that responds to all emotions? That gets its power of all of them?
Hopefully, I won't be verbally decapitated now, when I say, that is sounds a bit gary-stu-ish to me. But perhaps, that is just plan, simple, me.
Greets

You're starting to sound like you're getting tired of explaining to people they should read the comments before they comment.
I didn't see this in the comments for this episode, but it may have been asked before - have you been reading the IDW Star Trek comics (either based on the new films or some of the earlier ones like John Byrne's series of mini-series)?
As I've had to stop reading comics entirely for a bit since the economy finally caught up with me (read: I got laid off), I'm be interested to see how the IDW comics are doing, but I don't have the money to buy them myself. Unfortunately, nobody's talking about them, which makes finding out how the comics are doing fairly difficult.
Anyway, thanks for doing more TAIS, and I look forward to the next episode of both this and AtFW.
I ASKED MY LOCAL COMIC STORE OWNER-DEMON KNIGHTS IS SELLING WELL!(at least here in CA)
Good to see that TAIS is back. It's like the evening news for new comic wednesday. It gives more weight to the the events we read about that day.
Frankensteins a pimp!and my personal favorite of the relaunch. you're explaining how he killed the giant spider wrong. He didnt JUST do that old cliche of gettin eaten and killing the monster from inside(like Disney's Hercules or Clash of the Titans 2010)
Look at the page!He went in,GRABBED the heart with his right hand, cut his way out with the giant sword in his left hand,Then dashed out of it,DRAGGING THE HEART.(It was even attached to a tube that looked important.)
Then he stabbed the heart.
So,he pulled a giant spider's heart out of its chest.and stabbed it.awesome.
Penguin:Pain and Predjudice isnt that great, both issues are the same almost.
The writer tries to make penguin seem threatening, then details of his past THAT COME OUT OF NOWHERE and don't ring true on a character level which are more like the writer just trying to be gross, dreary artwork,Then the 4th,3rd and 2nd to last page(IN BOTH ISSUES)are a montage of the Penguin indirectly killing alot.
giving Batman rogues a mini-series is cool tho.I hope they do Scarecrow.
I've bought the trade, but haven't had a chance to read through them yet.
And finally, what may be preventing me from fully enjoying this book is that annoying thought in the back of my head going "Weren't you having more fun when Barbara was Oracle and Cassandra/Stephanie was Batgirl?"
*shrug* I just don't know.
Answering my own question and briefly reviewing the whole TAIS so far Lewis reviewed all New 52's #1's comic books then drop away more than half of them and so far at the beginning of the reboot crap third month only 6 comics deserved any kind of attention.
Despite any schedule improvements i guess you are going to keep things this way Lewis unless of course a miracle happen, DC Comics take over the world and Frank Miller give up drawing and writing to become a farmer in some lost Amish community around the Wastelands of the Frozen North American Glacier Lakes of Eternal Certain Doom know as MidWest America and Canada - my own country is known stereotypically as a Wastelands of Humid Tropical Jungles of Eternal Certain Doom know as Brazil and some latino non-united states at the left corner of the map, free yourself to mock about.
Anyway i going taking a shot my self, i will read all New 52's from #1 and ahead and see how many i'm going to following and how many i'm gonna keep reading just because i love to hate them.
The tasks ahead are :
how many comics an average guy can read on a regular basis without going nuts ?
As rules i'm going to read them all digitally, cover to cover versions if i can find it on line and my job, family and social life and home chores must not suffer any delay in order to "simulate" a Lovhaugish environment of 24/7 busyness and resolute entertain's man Craftmanshipment - i guess i bend a few grammar rules here.
Let's see what may be done and report later.
Meanwhile : Lewis, do you have any plans to read Knights of the Living Dead #01 ? Looks like the kind of thing you would like take a sneak peek.
how many comics an average guy can read on a regular basis without going nuts ?
Excellent question - without getting paid for it, I’d say as much as the financial situation allows that average guy to do so, then it gets tricky.
Here's hoping when Marvel starts publishing Disney related stuff they pick up the series where it left off.
On Batgirl #3, I enjoyed it a lot. Even though Nightwing didn't add much to the storyline, I love seeing his ass getting kick by Babs because I'm not a fan of Dick Grayson.
Overall, I'm glad that you have no plans on ending TAIS, it's great show for giving brief reviews on recent comics.
