ConBravo: D20 Live

Back at ConBravo, one of the panels I was on was a live D&D session, also featuring Roo, Mike Dodd, and Spoony! It was AWESOME, and if you wanted to know the other basis for my upcoming Team Fortress 2 Sniper cosplay for MetaCon, then look here!

  1. Thank you so much for uploading this. I'm just at the part where Spoony told his greatest swordsman in the world story and I'm already well entertained.

  3. Linkara you ask about others watching your videos you should really watch Counter Monkeys before your next game with Tandem the Spoony.

Wait this man just saw a bunch of strangers take down a monster that took out all his guards in the house.. Isn't he intimidated or wary about this guild that has such people in it? Considering what they just did he'd likely think they could rush a dracolitch.

Escorting the daughter . . . The DM has heard of Spooning with Spoony hasn't he?

The drinks were WAY too obvious. You morons aside form Linkara didn't even wait to watch her drink first!

I have a plot < That gets heard so often.

Saying she was slutting to her Father? Ever hear of curbing your tongue? Spoony is damn lucky that Linkara bailed that out..

Why didn't Linkara try to steal the medallion on the way to the house?

Spoony likes having pretty girls in the sack.

The medallion is a tracking beacon?

What about detecting magic on the sigel they were given by the local patron?

You Came you Saw You DOMINATED. Great quick campaign. He didn't award treasures or experience did he?

You posted this the same time I woke up today BTW.

  4. Thanks a lot for posting this. It might not have been good for the dragon, but it was good for me.

  5. Please tell me there is another video after this one with what happened afterwards or something.

  6. You guys are the luckiest S.O.B.'s ever, you do know that right?

By Lucky I mean with that dragon fight. The dice were just on your side that match. Also, I loved Roo. Said little, but his actions more then made up for that.

  7. I can't find Spoony's panel at ConBravo 2012 ANYWHERE!

Do you happen to know where I can find it?

  8. Wow. Never seen something like this before. I mean, D&D Live, really?

  9. Beautiful. I hope that something like this happens again in the future. This was, well, frankly two and a half hours well spent.

  10. "Please tell me there is another video after this one with what happened afterwards or something."

We posed for photos and then went out to dinner. XD

  11. I was there for this. :D I didn't think I was going to get in because I got to the con late (like after registration had closed for the day) And I remember standing in the back behind the dividers trying not to cry because the ONLY reason i went was to go and (hopefully) meet you. (which I did.) And I didn't think i was going to. I did eventually find someone who would let me pay and the first thing I did was went and watched this. :) Honestly that was an awesome night. :) thank you for uploading this. truly you made my night... again. (as per usual)

  12. :D thank you so much for uploading this. this is the second time you playing D and D has made my night. I was there when you were doing this. I got to the Con late because i had to work. (i live about an hour away from there and i brought a change of clothes with me to work so i could leave right away and i was speeding on the highway QEW just to get there.) and when i got there the registration desk was closed. and (as im sure you know) that room was the same one that the desk was in just parted by a divider. so i was standing there talking to my friend who i had with me and we were trying to figure out what to do (he was trying to convince me to go and talk to a staff member and see if they would let me pay and go in. but i am actually a painfully shy person so he said "ok you stand here and listen, i will try to find someone" and i was trying not to cry because i was REALLY bummed. i mean the only reason i went to the con was because i wanted to meet you and you were so close but so far away. anyways so he came back and forced me to talk to the person who did let me pay and go in. then when i actually did meet you i wasn't going to say anything and he was like "no we drove for an hour... you dragged me here. you are going to go and say hello to him" and i did. and i was pleasantly surprised by how personable you are. :) thank you for uploading this. it made me think of that and i was having a really shitty day so this turned it around. sorry that this is so long. thank you for what you do.

It's perfectly okay. ^_^ I approve all comments to make sure I read them all and the second one came in just after I had finished approving the first.

  18. I can't avoid wondering if the guy who went super with the black blood might have changed his mind on how afraid of your group he should have been after the end of this quick campaign.

  19. And this is why if anyone ever makes fun of me for playing tabletop games, I just laugh and shake my head.

Have they ever conquered a faraway kingdom with the aid and support of a group of boon companions?

Did they ever war in the Parrsoon Rift and watch good friends die?

Did they ever captain a spaceship to the far reaches of the cosmos and discover the truth behind all of creation?

Did they ever find love and begin a dynasty that lasted through the ages?

Did they ever see an angel fall . . . only to rise up again?

Did they ever find themselves forced to kill their father, who had been enslaved and mind-controlled by an evil lich for near two decades?

Did they ever SLAY A DRAGON with the power of but their imaginations?

Nay, they did not. And so their mockery means naught but wind.

  20. Wow, I must say. Seeing my first D&D Game told in the traditional sense instead of games I must say. That was fucking awesome. With alot of the humor it had me laughing. I must say well played Linkara,Spoony and Roo and everyone else involved in the game.

  21. Lawrence is like if Jason Statham plays Robin Hood

any potential to make him a storyline character?

you've got the TF2 Marksman bow, anyhow

    ReplyDelete
  22. Were you trying to act like the Sinper from TF2? Because every time you talked that's who I thought of.

Also, for the love of all that is ramen that was epic... Alsmot as epic as story of "Eric and the Gazebo"!

  23. Any word on reactions to this session from the other regular GM from you GM's usual RP Group?

  24. I was ambivalent about watching this, buy there really was nothing better on tonight, so I did... and boy, am I glad. IT WAS A RIOT! XD Lots of humor both in the game, the players and the audience. Plus, I can't believe Spoony's stories about how lucky he gets while gaming actually turned out true in *this* game! BTW tell the GM not to feel bad, it is a game after all which means no one, not even the Game Master, can ever be 100% sure how things will turn out. That's part of the fun! ;)

Thanks for sharing this with us. Hope to see more like this in the future!

  25. That was great, Linkara. And mad props for calling for Blind Guardian for the victory song.

  26. "So much for chaotic-good"
    "He roofied me!"

  27. Always great to see spoony and linkara, together is all the better.

    I don't even understand/like D&D, but I still watched it all, lol..

  28. Am I a horrible person because I couldn't concentrate on Spoony's story because I was too busy staring at that girl's rear?

  29. This was awesome. Loved it. Every second was entertaining and I love how each player brought something to the table to make this enjoyable.

  30. Ok maybe I am too D&D Deprived. I've watched this every night since it was posted. Hope it helps in the advertising revenue anyway.

  31. So what level were you guys?
Also going to carry a huntsman tomorrow?

  32. Things I've learned from this video: The more times you can make the GM say "Oh, for [expletive]'s sake," the better.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've rambled elsewhere, so short and sweet here. 1.) Spoony= Greatest swordsman in the world.
And 2.) You played it smart the whole time and kept the party from killing themselves through being stupid (burlap sack daughter anyone?)
Great job to everyone there, and wow I need to find some people so I can get into tabletop RPGs

  34. Nice use of the Pulp Fiction joke! :D Your accent made it all the funnier!

  35. Just watched the entirety of this last night, and I was in stitches the whole time. I even fell off of my chair when Spoony declared his rapier attack on the dragon. The pain was totally worth it. Thanks for the laughs!

I kind of felt bad for the DM in this. Everything was one-sided against him. The only times he actually had a grip on the four of you was in the beginning, what with the D&D players and the "interrogation." After you guys got drugged, everything just went downhill for him.

Let this be a lesson folks: never drug the Spoony One and his friends, or they will find you, they will throw you in a burlap sack, and they will kill you (as well as the dragon accompanying you).

And that last fight. The odds were not in Big Mike's favor at all that night, especially after Spoony declared where he was attacking. Everything that could have gone wrong for him DID go wrong for him. Looking for prostitutes, burning down taverns, defiling corpses, knocking people out (especially your client's daughter), clocking a bartender in the face and robbing him, and defeating the intentionally unbeatable dragon. Only thing that could have made things worse is if there was a lot more gunpowder in the dragon's wounds.

It would be interesting though to see you cosplay a Spy/Sniper hybrid based on Lawrence/Laurence (not sure how you were spelling it, and I know he's not a thief, but those high thievery skills lead me to believe that at one point he was a thief).
