ConBravo Post-200th Episode Q&A

Following the premiere of the 200th episode at ConBravo, there was a Q&A!

9 comments:

  1. DC vs Marvel was where Batman dragged Cap out of the sewer, technically winning the "first to knock out" rules of that competition. But it was a popularity contest--Lobo lost to Wolverine, which is crap--so the wins/losses mean nothing there. In JLA/Avengers, they sized each other up, and Batman admitted Cap might be able to beat him--which the writer, Kurt Busiek himself, believes, because Cap is more efficiently able to recover from muscle fatigue (it's the closest thing Cap usually has to a superpower)--but it would take a long time, and they had better things to do, like saving their universes. So technically a draw there, since they never actually fought.

  2. I can never like Huntress. She's a murdering piece of crap. The "War Within" storyline did nothing to help this. How do you root for a character who works with those who don't kill, that does?

I still can't understand all the anger over Barbara Gordon becoming Batgirl again. Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain are now free to build their own characters instead of being apart of one ppl will always feel belong to Barbara.

All this and if Barbara is only liked because she's paralyzed (who can't do things no paralyzed person can do, thus breaking that message) then she's not a character anymore, just a prop. Like Superboy-Prime who's only used as a punchline (and a continuity problem solver). They're no longer characters, only props. Where's the fun in that?

PS Now that Spoony is no longer a part of TGWTG does that mean you two won't do anymore crossover?

Well, considering the current Huntress is NOT Helena Bartinelli but Helena Wayne from Earth-2, it's a different perosn.

"I still can't understand all the anger over Barbara Gordon becoming Batgirl again. Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain are now free to build their own characters instead of being apart of one ppl will always feel belong to Barbara."

Yeeeaaaah no they aren't. DC has pretty much put a ban on the use of the characters at all. Creators have stated that they were rejected from using Stephanie Brown or Cassandra Cain in any capacity, to the point where Stephanie Brown WAS going to appear in the Smallville comic, but was changed by the DC higher-ups for flimsy reasons, despite interviews and solicitations to the contrary.

  4. Great to see you didn't miss out on the TimBits. One of the greatest things in all of Canada! Did you know Tim Hortons owns many A&W franchises now but the ones they don't own are stuck serving frozen reheated food?

Looking forward to the Long Box of the Damned. And the convention workers had an interesting sense of humor. We won't beat you. . . hard.

  6. Hey Linkara, what do you think would be a good starting point for someone trying to get into the avengers?

Yeah San Diego Comic Con was pretty much PR disaster for DC on Stephanie. They again lied to fans faces and couldn't keep their own stories straight. Nothing new from DC as they lied to fans for a year about Shazam Family and then changed their story when new 52 was announced. I just don't get DC at times. They don't seem to care about fans. Several characters that have loyal fan base that maybe more popular then some lame characters they push now are just being not used. They lie about it. I don't believe a thing anymore about what they say about Wally West. Who is more popular then Barry with everyone except at DC. There is poll still open on CBR message board that has 241 to 86 for Wally. Stephanie and Cassandra maybe not gigantic fan base but they do have their loyal fans. Cassandra had one of longest running female solo titles in recent years too. It if baffling their decisions. I hope it changes but I'm not holding my breath.

    re-posting this correct some mistakes.
