"She must be... A COMMUNIST!" lol Priceless!

Not to sound terribly cheap, but are there any teaser samples of Revolutions of the Mask anywhere?

There are indeed! Go to http://www.brainscancomics.com to see!

Is it wrong that those shoes are the part of the outfit that are completely killing me? I mean, I am used to superheroines dressing like porn-stars at this point, much as I hate it, but the completely mis-matching footwear is too much. It is like, not only is her outfit super-uncomfortable looking and completely impractical, it is also amazingly ugly. Kinda defeats the point, you know?

I just don't get it - they've already shown how completely impractical and fetishy the outfit is, so why in the heck did they decide sneakers were the way to go there?

I got the feeling that woman on the beach was meant to be Pamela Anderson. Especially with the Mulder and Scully references.

I admit that I started to get that impression, as well, but the appearance wasn't as blatant for me to justify making a joke about it.

That fish at the beggining looks a lot like the shark, Sherman, from "Sherman's Lagoon," a sunday morning newspaper comic. Think it's supposed to be a cameo?

Lewis Lovhaug said...

If it is, its appearance still makes about as much sense as Mulder and Scully appearing.

"Excuse me, ladies? You're scantily clad, and have nothing to do with the narrative. Therefore, it's sexist. Sorry."

From where you get the 300 part?

And man... you're good, i saw you at themanwiththeglasses and easily see you as one of the stars there!

I gonna have a lot work to do seeing all your posts here (lol)

It's from Robot Chicken, a recurring joke in that episode. "THIS. IS. DECAF!" and "THIS. IS. MARTHA!"

I love the voice you gave to that Winged Lady.

Well, to be fair, I've known a couple women who were hardly stupid who didn't wear underwear. I'm pretty sure it had less to do with "not believing in proper support" and more to do with "not needing that particular sort of support." Then again, I suppose our blank-faced hero would have significantly more need of support. Ahn, what do I know?

Wow, though, with those kind of stereotypes you'd think this comic had been *written* in the 50s. "I love Stalin more"? Right out of Hooveresque propaganda.

I mean, I don't have a problem with communist villains per se (especially if they're Stalinist) but sheesh, at least get your facts right.

You know, I don't mind the Stalinist villian terribly much. Stalin's just that sort of guy. What I do want to know is...did they explain how come Terrordon/dawn suddenly went "Stalin is god" after her transformation?

What did Soviets drive? Well...actually they drove diesel. If they drove at all. Which most of them didn't. Having a car was a big friggin' deal in the USSR.

...and I hate to admit it but part of this was pretty sexy. Amy hit all the right buttons: short-haired, strong-willed, a fighter.

Also, adult films would be better if more of the actors wore Cindy's outfit. Believe me. They're terribly uninventive in outfits. Truthfully Cindy's and many superheroine outfits are actually much more inventive and interesting then those in most adult films. Yes, there is an industry even more creatively bankrupt than this comic, possibly on a par with Warrior #1.

(Roise O'Donnell was the job lady.)

I am working through a backlog of your reviews and absolutely love it, so don't wonder if there are new comments on old entries. I find it especially hilarious, that the communist villain is the one complaining about nudity, because East Germany was known for its nudist culture and at least in Europe people were more likely to equal nudity to communism than the other way around. Of course, people on the nudist beaches aren't likely to pose in fetishy bathsuits (and usually not in such a good shape) so it would have defeated the true purpose of the comic. -greenbean-

TerrorDon/Dawn seems to be based on Bettie Page, which would... sort of jibe with being from the 1950s?

Yay, not!porn! No, seriously, this is what you get when you want to write porn and, for one reason or another, can't/don't. In the end it just doesn't appeal to anyone... except the people who kept this alive by buying/financing it for years. I like my brain, so I'm not going to think about this.

On the other hand, it made me want to pick up Revolution of the Mask... "it doesn't suck" works surprisingly well as a tagline if you use it in the right context.
