You're Such a Card Game: Happy Days Board Game

Liz and I recently took a look at the Happy Days board game! Watch us hang out at crack houses!

And Liz's final thoughts on it:

  1. Does Richie Cunningham on the cover look a little like Alfred E. Neuman to anyone else?

In fact, it kind of looks like one of the classic MAD artists...

  2. I would like to see more of Iron Liz comparing "bored" games to softcore porn!

Candyland vs. California Gurls music video FTW!

  3. Anyone who thinks that a magazine that's featured fiction from Ian Fleming, Hunter Thompson, Stephen King (to name a few) and interviews with Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Muhammad Ali (to name a few), pioneering articles on civil and gay rights, as well as, yes, nude photography from some of the most respected photographers in the business for more than 50 years ago is a 'ratty porno magazine' needs to actually pick up a copy and look at it some time.

Sorry, its a bone of contention (no pun intended with me). I lay down the gauntlet for Liz - review one of those 1970s Playboys, I think it'd be an interesting challenge to your obvious preconceptions.

  5. In many ways, this reminds me of a game called "Storming the Castle." It's supposedly based on the Princess Bride. It's actually an OK game, but other than the names/pictures used, it doesn't have anything to do with the property. It's just a race to a castle. Whoo. You don't even storm it.

Like Happy Days, it was obvious they made a game, and slapped a property name on it to trick schmucks into buying it.

  6. Fonzie jumps over 14 garbage cans, not buses! But, I mean Fonzie had to ride a bull, he had to be in a demolition derby, he jumped over a shark, he had to fight mobsters, he fought an alien (mork), and he fought the devil. I think he also saved some children orphanage or a ski resort as well.. Fonzie was super cool! :D

  7. I love that you guys've incorporated gags from TGWTG in your everyday lives too. Me and my brother always find some quote from you guys to slip into sentences. The best are when I have reason to shout "I AM A MAN!" because it's just so much fun to say.

  8. I haven't seen the second video yet, so I don't know any suggestions you and Liz make. Of course you're right, the game could be better. They should have gave it more refrences to the show and have cards that say "You fall for Ralph's practical joke. Lose one cool point" and "Richie helps you with your home work. Pay one dollar".
Maybe there can be one that says "You are Richie's brother. Disappier and never be seen or spoken of again".

  9. I normally don't watch the "You're Such a Card Game" posts, but being the old TV show nerd that I am (even though I've never seen "Happy Days"), I just had to watch this one. And it didn't disappoint. You guys play well off each other--maybe I'll go dig up some old episodes...

Also, since nobody seems to have mentioned this yet, I'm pretty sure the guy whose name you forgot is Potsie. But like I said, I haven't seen the show, so I could be wrong on that.

  11. It's been a while since we've seen an episode of You're such a Card . . . Game. Of course, it's not an actual card game but it's fun seeing you and Liz playing games.

These drawings remind me of Professor Otaku from Desu Des Brigade or 2-D Lee from Still Gaming.

  12. I this game reminded me of something I'd love to see ya'll play because it's really is awesome. But, you'd have to spend $300+ for it now. ICP's Quest for Shangra-La!!! It is a lot fun and very interesting! The only problems ya'll might have are if you just hate ICP(I like them I don't care what people say) or depending on how many people are playing how long it'd take. Ya'll's case 2 so might only be 30mins to an hour at most... well depending there are lots of varibles!
It's like a really worped verion of Clue in the since it has multiple endings and you can pick from multple characters that have different strengths and weaknesses!
I'd love to see Liz and you reviw this and 'm sure abunch of ohers would too!

PS: Sorry I had to be signed into the right account to post this my real comment and request!

  13. Personally I'll love to see more of you two playing board games. Possably even pullin in a third or fourth player along too. Not sure what games it'll be to fit with the show you've got. But I think it could work.

I hope I'm not the only one thinkin' this...
