A group of crooks plans the ultimate heist by pretending to be generous humanitarians!

  1. Holy Christ on a pogo stick...I mean, it loses a few points for not having you in it, obviously, but that may be a contender for best part yet. Certainly better than the last one, at any rate!

    I'M A DISTRACTIOOOOOOON!!! :D

  2. Where the heck are you in this movie? At this point, Oancitizen has been in the movie more than you have. I'm surprised that I'm saying this, but I would have rather had you in the movie the whole time instead of Mechakara in it at all.

  3. Linkara shows up and shouts "CAMEO" and walks offscreen. That would've already been more screen-time than your combined scenes in the movie.

  4. Dangit, why couldn't it have been you on Comicron-1 to pull the Big Damn Heroes/Han Solo moment? Seriously, I was TOTALLY expecting that!

  5. All of the funniest characters from Kickassia and Suburban Knights have been severely reduced, and that is the biggest misstep in this entire movie.

    Movie ain't over yet.

  7. I kind of expected Linkara to be one of the more active Critics, considering he has a space ship.

Though I will admit, whenever you act angry as MechaKara you do a pretty good job, I just kinda wish you had more screen time, as you know, you. Though I shouldn't be judging since you said Part 8 is the longest part as well as Part 1 so I'm assuming around 30-40 minutes and that you'll probably show up for a good amount of time.

Though I will say I did like the "I'm a Distraction!" part, with all the different events going on, a lot of foreboding stuff also helped, as well as the general comedy that actually mixed with the seriousness.

  8. So, wait. All this time, the voice inside Spoony and the Plot Hole WASN'T Ma-Ti? Why do I get the feeling that this is setting up to be one of the biggest Mind Screws since the series finale of Evangelion?

  9. this one was the best part! it had Oanciticen and more ZOOODDDDD
but it suffers a little because of having to many stories.

i trought with Kyle using a cut to teleport they would go the animal man route and use quick-cuts and other tolls of cinema to defeat the bad guy

  10. Wait. Did Lindsey and Doug actually sing that? WHY HAVE THEY NOT DONE THAT SOONER? If that was all them what else are they capable of?

    ReplyDelete
  11. O-o Damn... Nostalgia Chick's singing voice impresses me every time she sing's in an event that calls for it... And Zod you come from a Universe were Death almost means nothing for you and has Immortals that line of"Were all going to die anyway" is out of character for you! Well it is a massive plot hole in space time so I'll accept it this one time Zod.

Anyway aside from my comedic part from my post I'm really interested what Ma-Ti has in store for the Critic, I wonder if he's in league with the bad guys in some way.

  12. Well he we go one more down and one part left to go. What will happen to the critics...will Luke save Bradakin...will Paw get hit by more things from JO...was this the last part with a red shirt dying...will NC live through the plot hole...Will Linkara show up to save everybody...and in the end will the plant in the corner still tie the room together.

Come back Thursday to see the epic final conclusion same critic time same critic blip tv channel...

  13. Well it's getting good we got a few nice action scenes and ok special effects!
I still wish that Zod had his superhuman powers because I can see some really cool things done with Doug. He could've been shown flying in space and fighting and heat vision! All that great stuff! Maybe play him like Superman(boy)-Prime in the him being angry and stupid and too powerful for his own good! Hell he could've killed Phelous a few times!
I liked Film Brain's freakouts here those were funny.
MarzGurl dressed as the main character from Ghost in the Shell was a nice touch!

  14. Am I the only one who saw the autobot symbol on the back of critic's car?

I know, but I still would've preferred your character's time onscreen to not be sacrificed for Mechakara.

  16. After seeing that, I demand a full length, uncut version of "I'm a Distraction!"

Bonus points if we get an Oancitizen remix.

Hell, Lewis has some great pipes. Let's get a full That Guy With the Glasses remix!

  17. I'm a Distraction is quite fitting for a Kryptonian song from after they found out the world was doomed.

Is there any particular reason Critic is driving a Transformer? Particularly an Autobot?

Why was the ship our Psyclo friend flying so small? Just given basic body armor or avionics there wasn't enough space in that cock pit for him without cutting off his legs.

I always thought the reason a certain Kryptonian never spoke is because a certain lady was constantly causing him pain to the point where whimpers was the closest to speech he could manage.

Consider it on a ball buster scale.

Also consider the need to focus for the heat beam trick to work and how much harder it was for him to concentrate. But once he worked it out how much stronger his attack was.

One section left. Wish it was 3 Just so many things could be done so well with a bit more time but then like the visual effects in Star Trek The Motion Picture most of it would be seen as pure padding.

  18. Was Luke getting the Star Wars aliens mixed up with Star Trek aliens an intentional reference to the fact that there's a Delta Quadrant species that was also called Bothans? Or was it a coincidence?

  19. Hmmm... I think the biggest laugh in this one was during the musical number. Specifically Oancitizen trying to sing even though that would have, and ultimately did, blow their cover. Phelous as captain... I'm reminded of the DS9 episode Valiant, specifically how well it ended for them.

    Fiery Little One

  20. Again, I feel that Brad got the best line. "I'm going to pretend you didn't say that." (possibly paraphrased?) :P

  21. I really don't know what I'm going to do after Thursday. This has become a routine for me, and I'm going to miss it.

Luke collects the quiet scenes, doesn't he? First the Brad scene, then this bit with Kyle, and then later with Mathew. The slashfic will flow, but I think you all expect that by now :D Speaking of Mathew: I thought that he did really well in his scenes. I've seen his acting get knocked, but IMO he gave Film Brain a really good character arc. It's just that it developed over three films, so it might not have been easily noticed.

As a sidenote, I'm very impressed by how the "training montage" was handled. It managed to be pretentious on purpose, and did so in a manner that highlit what the characters were saying. It was a perfect rebuttal to everything Clod said back in Part 5... except for his point about how even bad movies can be a labour of love. There's really no rebuttal to that, and I'm glad that the villain actually had a valid point about something.

The acting continues to impress, of course, but I have to say that I love how well-balanced the film has been in terms of characters. The Critic is the main character, but he doesn't really overpower the others the way he did in the Team 1 bits last year. Almost everybody has had a big moment so far, and I've no doubt that the rest will by the end of Part 8.

It goes without saying, but Kyle ran away with Part 7. I had no idea how he'd work as such a late arrival, but he held my attention every second he was on screen. He can even do physical comedy quite well.

To top it all off, there was that glorious musical number. Was it supposed to evoke the "Holding Out For A Hero" sequence in Shrek 2? Has anybody ever talked about a TGWTG musical?

  23. Thunderbolts in the description if I ain't wrong

    Ah, thanks LAG
Thanks for reminding me why I always thought of Obi-Wan from the original trilogy as an unlikable dirt-bag

I was half expecting Oan giving Luke a MONTAGE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU9Uwhjlog8

I will say that I still love a movie if it has sincerity.
If it's something the director did because it was what he wanted to do, rather than something he was hired to make.
This is why I love the film Sucker Punch so much, no matter how much you people bitch and moan, since it was the film Zack Snyder dreamed about making (as well as the film I always wished to be made). Same reason why I can't ever be mad at Avatar, as it was something Cameron wanted to make ever since childhood.

    God Emperor Phaelous...
Quickly! Someone make a photo-shop of that! http://theshellcase.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/the-god-emperor-cant-be-wr.jpg

Is MarsGurl supposed to be Motoko?

I'll take a wild guess about the identity of the masked man
The Angry Video Game Nerd? (would make sense, seeing as he started this whole anniversary tradition to begin with)

Oh, he'll regret dissing on Crystal Pepsi!

    And finally, epic musical number
Was "I Need A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler used as a basis?
    Sounded kinda similar

  24. When Doug was saved from Terl I was hoping it wold be from Linkara in C-1, but know it was our wannabe Cylon friend. Hopefully we'll have a "Han Solo Moment" with Linkara and C-1 during the attack on the Executor's station.

    ReplyDelete
  25. How long exactly is the 8th part?

Get your sci-fi right. The mysterious space dude is Gort from The Day The Earth Stood Still. He's not a Cylon. In fact, frankly, he looks nothing LIKE a Cylon. I don't know where you got that from (also, I think you meant "no" instead of "know").

  27. Please tell me that October is Evil Dead comics.

  28. Great Part. I loved the "I´m a Distraction" Song. Doug has a really good singing voice and N Chick wasn´t bad either. I also thought that the song reminded me of "I need a hero".

And i also think that Marzgirl was supposed to be Motoko from Ghost in the Shell.

Love the Metal Gear Box joke.I´m really looking forward to the final part.

I guess that this Space guy who saved Doug is actually James. Because he just have to be in an anniversary at some point and he wouldn´t have to do much.

  29. Well that explais why Mati sounded so evil in the last episode.

  30. "Why do I get the feeling that this is setting up to be one of the biggest Mind Screws since the series finale of Evangelion?"

They'd have to beat the ending of the Revolutionary Girl Utena movie, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and 12 Oz. Mouse for that title

    ReplyDelete
  31. after listening to the song's lyrics, I can actually quite vividly see what Krypton's last moments could have been like
(kinda reminds me in concept of the song "Amused to Death" by Roger Waters)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Also... what was CR doing? He said something about "exiling" something like Kirk did in the episode Space Seed (which I believe was the episode with Khan). Anyone have any idea WHAT exactly he was exiling?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'll make my guess about the space-man's identity

I'd guess it's Suede, as he already pulled a similar stunt in Suburban Knights

    that, or Doug's wife

  34. Put me down for loving 'Distraction', too.
I hadn't got the Holding Out For A Hero connection, though.

    Jarkes:
"He's not a Cylon... I don't know where you got that from"

    I think its the 'eyes'.

    And also:
"He said something about "exiling" something like Kirk did in the episode Space Seed (which I believe was the episode with Khan)."

You believe... truly. That's the one.
