O_O People actually like Chick Tracts? Hell, even Fox News manages to disguise its incompetence with flashy lights and quick buzzwords. Jack Chick is basically Glenn Beck if Glenn Beck was a rambling old racist grandpappy.
As for Garth Ennis...dude. Preacher. No matter what his fans think, the ONLY appeal that book could have is if they legitimately think that shouting loudly and obnoxiously about how "priests r evul" is edgy or controversial. Then again, considering what happens to chickens in Ennis works, that may be more Snob territory.
But Ennis? Chick? Bah, such simple ponderances! Time for me to ask the tough questions, where the hardiest of geeks daren't tread! Time for you to make a stand, Champion Linkara! Make your choice in the greatest geek question of all time: Sheridan or Sinclair! Choose wisely, my friend. *vanishes in a puff of smoke, Log-style*
Well since you are not going to go over last week's comics besides Blackhawks, do mind if I ask what you are reading from the 4th week anyways? You haven't done a video since Stepember for the 4th week so I'm not sure what you are following from that week outside of Blackhawks and Teen Titans. Has Firestorm improved, Aquaman continue to be awesome, JLD continue to be weird, etc.
In Ghostbusters (I'm enjoying this incarnation a lot) the blue, blues-y ghost that calls Ray "Brother" rocked my fricking socks. It's an example of how you slip a reference in without confusing people who don't get it or slowing down the story.
Sure you noticed it, but when things are done well in a story I think it should be mentioned as much as when things are done badly. :)
Oh hi Lewis. I was wondering I you came across any comics based on Film Noire and if so were you planning on reviewing any of them? Also were there any writer/artist or character team-ups that you would like to see? Just curious.
Rick007
I think you'll like the game. Story might not be the greatest at times, especially towards the end, but there's plenty to see and collect.
So, did you ever try the Coney?
In Soviet Youmacon, man on sage pelts audience with produce.
TAIS keeps cutting its self off just when it's getting started. whats going on here?

Firestorm's second week was okay, but I still don't think it's anything to write home about. Aquaman has indeed continued to be awesome, and I didn't read Justice League Dark.
I sincerely hope you take your time this weekend to rest and relax instead of doing anything else. Enjoy this weekend the best you can because that excruciating period between now and Christmas plus New Year's Eve it's just turning around the corner and after that there is no space R&R anymore despite the fact you made your hobby into a serious business.
Let's face it, you are now a 24/7 Real Life's Truman Show with people knocking your own fourth wall all the time waiting to see the screen goes from black to silver and colored again all the way back to life willing to watching/listen anything you have for us again.
Take your time, have fun this weekend, hang around with Liz and see what non-edited non-2dimensional recorded live feeds are suppose to be beyond the fourth wall.
We will be here when you come back, waiting for you, manufacturing questions and comments that extracted and refined made the stuff of the legend.
Have a nice weekend Lewis!
P.S.: Blackhawks is awful if for anything else at least for their lack of bright colors and keen humor. Rob Liefeld's Powers Rangers has Avery Brooks as Captain Zordon and that's the kind of AWESOME i want on my superteam of world protectors, Liefeld is the kind of J.J.Abrams the classic series needed, and thanks the Entity for showing that.
Goes with that one Lewis, i know you love it -> Vic Fontaine/Benjamin Sisko - The Best Is Yet To Come
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmXzamLDgFk
Love the Sylvester McCoy cosplay besides Tom Baker one of my favorites also where did you get the sweater? I've been looking for a reproduction for a long time and cannot find anyone who makes them. Also did you have the umbrella because I didn't see one in the video.
The Ghostbusters on-going has been pretty good, Lewis, and I would recommend looking at the other issues. It's fairly "episodic" but also had an on-going story behind the scenes. I'd call blasphemy on you for like GB2 so much, but to each his own. I don't hate it myself, personally, there's just elements of it that were too out of the "reality" of the movie (namely the "2" on the Ectomobile) and the movie was too self-aware it was a movie. I guess.
Anyway, the comics do seem to be acknowledging the second movie to some degree and even the video game. Again, I'd recommend checking out the other issues as well.
Along the same lines I recommend to you the IDW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on-going (four issues out now) as well as the mini-series they're going to do over the next few months of four comics each one focusing on one of the turtles. Raphael is the first turtle and his book should be out this Wednesday. There's also a collection volume out now of the original comic book (not the Archie series.) The volume is likely very expensive at your local shop but it's half as much on Amazon. Shame to not hear your thoughts on the comics you've picked up the last few weeks that you missed doing videos for, it's always nice to hear your thoughts. Anyway, thanks for the update!
"Love the Sylvester McCoy cosplay besides Tom Baker one of my favorites also where did you get the sweater? I've been looking for a reproduction for a long time and cannot find anyone who makes them. Also did you have the umbrella because I didn't see one in the video."
My brother got it from the Doctor Who store in London years ago, but if you go to the Doctor Who cosplay livejournal group, you'll find people who make them or know people who make them.
And yep, I had the question mark umbrella with me. ^_^
It's ashame you're not reviewing last weeks, but I get why. Good luck with The Wrath of Kahn.
I would like to know what your first impression on Bunker is, since there was some minor controversy over him. Me personally, I think his light heartedness and niceness is a breath of fresh air in this Brave New World.
And here I thought I was the only person who liked Black Hawks
Alto the reason I'm following it, is the toy-tastic G.I.Joe-esque 80s aesthetics of the book.
It really looks like the tie-in to some toy-line, and I love it for it.
@Steve
You obviously never read Preacher, and if you did, you didn't bother to pay any attention to the plot or characters
Try reading issues 25 and 26 for the true essence of this series - the people
This series UNDERSTANDS people
I hear that the Walking Dead is so good that even people who don't care for zombie stories love it, so make of that what you will.
I think you might want to try Warren Ellis's run on StormWatch and Authority, if nothing else. From what I hear, it's other writers than Ellis who really made the characters in Authority big jerks.
@the Sylvester McCoy's suit
White or any more clear pallete of colors, in my opinion, don't suits you very well. Your face and skin calls for more sober tones if not darker ones.
When the Andorians from Star Trek Enterprise talk about pink skins they are talking about YOU ! And as you already know you had a more sweet complexion at the beginning of this show when you was in your mid-20's three years ago.
You look more grouchy now that you are in your early pre-30's.
And why are you posting this crap i am writing right now ? It's friday night for Christ sake, get out of the computer right now and go party or something like you was not a beacon of truth, justice and the righteous way across the triple W, please read the bold part like it was hi capped - like if you need it that from a stoned amateur than doesn't even stoned.
Tonight the team go wasted all night, It's SINCITTÁPALOOZA (pronounced with a loosely based italian accent please for your friends amusement) and if you guess what that means you know i'm out of here already because i am at least three hours ahead of you on my time zone, so LET'S ROCK !

*after hours and wasted :
__Damn it Frank did you had no say in this movie ??? Jessica Alba sucks as a stripper...hiccups... ruined the Fantastic Four and Catwoman wasn't enough for her ? ... hiccups... Do you really needed her on this too... add the Goddamned montage here but keep it PG-13 in respect to Lewis Lovhaug, webalist, age twelve squared with a furry hat....
Hey Lewis I know you read these beforehand so if I don't see it I understand. I was wondering if you've heard of the doctor who movie that's being floated right now? If not I'd put together a short video concerning the topic a couple weeks ago. It has some solid news links attached to it. Give it a gander http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTmUwMpE-FQ

Methinks you're trolling, but I'll respond quite simply: that is such a vague, VAGUE praise for any form of media that it could apply to any sort of story or media. Atlas Shrugged is about people, and understands very specific people, but that doesn't make it good.
And if it takes twenty-five issues of "the old ultraviolence" and Garth Ennis soapboxing for the reader to understand a bunch of violent lunatics and start making us give a fuck about the story, then that story is an abysmal failure.
"And as you already know you had a more sweet complexion at the beginning of this show when you was in your mid-20's three years ago.
You look more grouchy now that you are in your early pre-30's."
...I'm 24.
And I thought I told you I was sick of these little extra bits you keep including at the ends of your posts?
@Lewis
Do you think there is any hope, if well succeeded, for this Ghostbuster's new comic book become the so needed beach head for a come back on television and movie theaters ?
*(in contrast with real life) 7:50pm here, by the time you read this reality and fantasy in my time zone will be already mash up.
Well, I forgot about X-Factor, so in addition to Red Hood and New Guardians, I'll also be picking it up. I also read Aquaman and Teen Titans, and they were big improvements over the last two issues, so I'll keep reading them, too. You know, I think the gods of comic books hate me. Just when I think I might actually have some money left over...and a friend showed me the third new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book, and it, as predicted, is still just awful. I'm in the middle of old TMNT Adventure books and I think that was the ultimate Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles experience. Like Legion of Super Heroes, TMNT should have died in the 90s. I still shiver everytime I hear "Flash Forward". And speaking of LoSH, I will give it one-ONE-more chance. NONE of it has been ANY good since Supergirl joined the Threeboot, and up to that point, Threeboot was just mediocre. 90s!LoSH is my favorite comic book of all time, above even X-Statix and X-Factor. I feel like going to a bar, getting drunk, and asking "Whhhhhy won't it loooooooove me again?"
Well of the comics you read this week the Ghostbusters comic sounds like something up my alley! Have you heard of or read that big crossover they did with Star Trek, Transformers, GIJoe, and Ghostbusters... with zombies!? I'm curious of that if I should find those comics and read them!
That Con footage was great they asked some questions I'd wanted to ask! And I still say if you want to review one of Ennis's books with little effect of insulting his fanbase and causing trolling you should do the Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe What if...? title!
I can't wait for the up coming reviews! And Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns is awesome and hey're adapting it into an animated movie! On Identity Crisis I haven't read it but want to because I hear both good and bad things but it's gardened enough attention my eyes have been drawn to it!
Kingdon Come is one of my favorite DC "Elseworld" titles and it's getting about the same treatment as DKR as when it came out a lot of other writers started trying to make the mainstream universe start to head in the direction of that book like it was the new law! But, back to what I wanted to say I think KC would be the perfect live action adaptions for DC to do one day! But, that's just me! Maybe?! Any others out there?!
Oh yeah what was that Chick thing you mentioned when talking about Ennis!?
I bet dollars to donuts that my predictions/comments will come true one of the "other magic guns" Linkara is gonna introduce is gonna be the Critic's gun. I mean, that gun killed an angel! What kind of normal gun does that?
Also, Jack Chick fans would be Catholic (not Christian, since Chick also targets Christians, a fact that eludes many people) fundamentalists. And I, for one, applaud trying to avoid such a crowd, because then the douchebag atheist will come out of the woodwork and let loose with their usual offensive and intolerant comments like "God is a fairy tale, and you are a moron if you believe otherwise", "religion should be wiped out from Earth" or "people a thousand years ago butchered other people in the name of Catholicism, you should be ashamed of yourself".
In the battle between intolerant Catholics and intolerant atheists, there are no winners, only losers.
It amazes me that, whenever one of the members of That Guy With the Glasses do one of these Q&A, the room is always packed.
When I mentioned TGWTG in the Goth.net forum, one user made a comment made a comment about "not caring about stupid YooToob videos" (which shows his ignorance since TGWTG had left Youtube a long time ago), and then dismissed the entire site.
When I mentioned TGWTG in the Witchway.net forum, nobody knew what I was talking about.
And I could fill an entire book with all the people on deviantart who don't seem to have any idea who the people from TGWTG are.
That leads me to believe most of these booked convention rooms would be empty, like in that Freakazoid episode where the only people there were Superman fans.
So, how the hell do they manage to gather such large crowds?
Yes, i know you are 24 years old and as always my humoristic bits fail miserably.
What puzzles me is why do you care more about little bits i add at my post there are only text than actually something to click and automatically open, the only person caring about is you and nobody comes around here to read anything i had to say/write, the @Sake response rarely or never happens except when coming from you and in a basis of once and never you actually respond my questions.
My prose and youtube preferences can't move the real attention away from you Sir, real people don't come to the comments section to dig links between posts (you know they have Google, don't you ?).
If i believe that for even one second, that i can do more than just comments, then i should ask my tailor to made me a new jacket really straight that suits my new comfy bedroom locked from outside.
Last time you overreact i did my best to show you how much you was mistaken, now i think is more than fair for me overreact this time in terms short and simple.
I praise you to take a break, now i think i will get my own medicine and take some time away.
I am sick of your complains and yet you posted my comments anyway.
You don't care to play along fine, I will not bother you for awhile since i really think you should enjoy your weekend.
Bye, i'm taking a vacation. Maybe a long one.
*and the crowd goes mad while another guy comment : but 12 multiple by it self doesn't equals 24 dude ....hiccups...
"Let's face it, you are now a 24/7 Real Life's Truman Show with people knocking your own fourth wall all the time waiting to see the screen goes from black to silver and colored again all the way back to life willing to watching/listen anything you have for us again."
That analogy doesn't work because Truman Burbank didn't know he was being filmed. A more accurate example would be that Linkara is a real-life "EdTV".
"But Ennis? Chick? Bah, such simple ponderances! Time for me to ask the tough questions, where the hardiest of geeks daren't tread! Time for you to make a stand, Champion Linkara! Who the hell are Sheridan and Sinclair?
"In Ghostbusters (I'm enjoying this incarnation a lot) the blue, blues-y ghost that calls Ray "Brother" rocked my fricking socks. It's an example of how you slip a reference in without confusing people who don't get it or slowing down the story."
Was...was that supposed to be the ghost of John Belushi?
"Blackhawks is awful if for anything else at least for their lack of bright colors and keen humor. Did...did you just praise Liefeld?
Boy, are you in the wrong show!
"Along the same lines I recommend to you the IDW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on-going (four issues out now) as well as the mini-series they're going to do over the next few months of four comics each one focusing on one of the turtles. Raphael is the first turtle and his book should be out this Wednesday"
As much as I hate to say it, the only Ninja Turtles comics worth their salt are the Mirage ones. In my opinion, one should not be reading a Ninja Turtles comic if that comic isn't published by Mirage.
"I hear that the Walking Dead is so good that even people who don't care for zombie stories love it, so make of that what you will."
I personally never read the comics, but I finally sat down to watch an episode of the TV series...and it's same Whedonized crap we've been fed for the last 11 years. I can't believe 5 whole minutes went by without even a hint of a zombie appearing. We really need to bring down Whedonization and bring back series that are packed with action and non-convoluted plots. We need more stuff like "The A-Team", "Batman" (the live action Adam West one), "Airwolf", "Knight Rider" (the original one), "Battlestar Galactica" (the original one), "Thunderbirds" or "Get Smart", and less stuff like "Lost", "Smallville", "Heroes" or "The 4400s".
"Hey Lewis I know you read these beforehand so if I don't see it I understand. I was wondering if you've heard of the doctor who movie that's being floated right now? If not I'd put together a short video concerning the topic a couple weeks ago. It has some solid news links attached to it."
Would that be a continuation of the show featuring the 11th Doctor regenerating into the 12th Doctor (you know, like the 80s TV movie did), or is it gonna be a remake/reboot featuring a new 1st Doctor?
"Do you think there is any hope, if well succeeded, for this Ghostbuster's new comic book become the so needed beach head for a come back on television and movie theaters ?"
I tell you this much: Hell will freeze over before "Ghostbusters 3" actually gets made.
A remake of the first movie is far more likely.
Wow. There was actually audible swooning when you busted out the Harvey Finevoice...voice. That was kind of awesome. Kudos.
"As much as I hate to say it, the only Ninja Turtles comics worth their salt are the Mirage ones. In my opinion, one should not be reading a Ninja Turtles comic if that comic isn't published by Mirage."
Oh, I JUST talked about this! XD Archie's TMNT Adventures is just the perfect recipe for Turtle goodness. They were also the only ones to pull off a female Turtle: NINJARA!...Well, she was a fox, but her role was the same. To each his own, I suppose. I myself could never get past Mirage TMNT's art style.
Heh, I've been seeing on twitter that Avengers Academy trades were selling out pretty quick on Black Friday and such. Though if you wait til January, you could pick it up in TBP.
Also, there's been some pretty big news about it from it when the editor in chief let something slip out about it. I think the writer is handling the topic pretty well.
Again, spoilers (then again, it's been spoiled before the issue even came out and is pretty far ahead from where you are reading,) but a good article if you want to check it out.
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=35708
Besides this character development and the fact that it reveals one of the newer cast members of the book, it probably won't spoil that many other details.
"Would that be a continuation of the show featuring the 11th Doctor regenerating into the 12th Doctor (you know, like the 80s TV movie did), or is it gonna be a remake/reboot featuring a new 1st Doctor?"
Initial reports from the BBC were that it was going to be from scratch and I quote David Yates "Russell T Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch," but it appears after fan reaction their backtracking a little with Steven Moffat Twitting "To clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot." which I'm personally glad to hear.
@The Exiled One
I would never compare Lewis Lovhaug with Mathew McConaughey or Ed Harris, Ed Tv doesn't suits Atop the Fourth Wall genre nor style, it's more like when Jim Carey start to owns himself at the end of the movie.
@Lord You Know Who
Sinclair : former Babylon 5 first Main Authority appointed Earth Dome after be selected by The Minbari, later he would became the first human to lead the Rangers and also "borrow" the Babylon 4 station toke it back a thousand years into the past as a new base in the fight against the Shadow, want to know more Google It.
Sheridan : former Earth Alliance's Captain, second man to became Babylon 5's commander in chief as well one of the leaders of the resistance in the final Great War against the Shadows, anything else said from this point needs a huge SPOILER ALERT so i suggest you get the show on DVD or on line and have fun;
About my Liefeld comment:
"What are you, dense? Are you retarded or something? It's a Goddamn PARODY."
Add two parts of some things people love with one part that people hate mix them together until you get consistent reactions of wonder, disgust, panic and masochist curiosity but only delivers a few bits each at the time and let rest for a while.
If smells good people will come, and if smells bad people will still come and ask about.
Next month on Chronicles That Never Should - Brian Michael Bendis, Mike Deodato Jr, Joe Pimentel, Dave Stuart, Tom Brevoort and Joe Quesada presents ARCHIE, BETTY, VERONICA, JUGHEAD AND MEPHISTO'S in RIVERDALE'S JUST ONE MORE DAY !
A Nightmare from below the deepest deeps of the Fourth Wall only on non-causal located book stores.
And that's finish, Merry Christmas everybody, i need a real break. See you all next year.
"I would never compare Lewis Lovhaug with Mathew McConaughey or Ed Harris, Ed Tv doesn't suits Atop the Fourth Wall genre nor style, it's more like when Jim Carey start to owns himself at the end of the movie."
I'm not talking about genre, style, McConaughey or Harris, I'm talking about PLOT. Truman didn't know he was being filmed, while Ed was. Linkara knows he's being filmed, thus his life resembles "EdTV" more because of the PLOT of "EdTV". If you still don't get it, think of shows like "Big Brother" or "Survivor", or even "Total Drama Island".
Linkara can't possibly be Truman as long as he's being filmed.
Also, here's a newsflash for you, Sake Mangusto: YOU ARE NOT FUNNY. Stop trying to be funny, cause it isn't working.
"Sinclair : former Babylon 5 first Main Authority appointed Earth Dome after be selected by The Minbari, later he would became the first human to lead the Rangers and also "borrow" the Babylon 4 station toke it back a thousand years into the past as a new base in the fight against the Shadow, want to know more Google It.

What the hell does any of that got to do with Linkara or his show? Or is this just another of your lame-ass atempts at humor?
here's a newsflash @The Exiled One and any other Faceless One hiding behind a nick : I DON'T CARE!
Or sort of like Linkara's old man used to say because i respect Lewis too much to use bad language :
"None of you seem to understand. I'm not posting here for you. You're posting here with *ME*!"
NOW KNOCK OFF PRETTY FACE, i hope the warden only publish this in monday afternoon.
I suggest for next year's Secret Origins month, you review the first appearance of the Shadow to make up for the lack of his inclusion in the past two years.
In fact, have you ever considered Secret Origins month to have origins of famous superheroes outside of Marvel or DC.
You know, I bet you could probably throw up a Harvey Finevoice review if you realize that you're running behind and won't be able to get a full episode out on time some week. I don't know how quickly a page goes for you, but three pages sounds pretty short, so I suspect you could knock it out pretty quick, if you had to.
"

That's it. I've had it.
Sake, I have been exemplary in my patience with you. I have repeatedly asked you to not post these little "humorous" posts you seem to enjoy so much. I try to read every comment before posting so that I can ensure that I read all feedback my fans provide, but doing it with these is just a huge time-sink that gets me nothing.
And now you claim to speak for my father, who you have never met. And yes, I know you're quoting Watchmen - that is not an attempt at humor, that is bizarrely trying to make me related to Rorschach for some reason.
I have had enough of this.
When you want to start making comments that actually have substance with them, I will allow them through, but until then, every post you make from now on will be rejected.
I am glad that you enjoy the show, but your behavior borders on troll behavior and this is MY blog. If you wish to continue making posts in the style you are comfortable with, feel free to start posting on That Guy with the Glasses itself, its forum, or on Spoony's forum, because it's not going to happen here anymore.
@Steve
I think I'm wasting time with you here, but the series in general has some of the best characterization out there
I just threw-out some of my favorite moments in the series as an example
of course, some people are just too dumb to look beyond the violence and toilet-humor, that are part, but not the main source of appeal.
And don't you try telling me that there is no such thing as religious extremism or child-abuse, since the last time I checked those things were pretty real.
"I think I'm wasting time with you here, but the series in general has some of the best characterization out there

I grant you this, people - I may not have enjoyed the first trade of Preacher, it was written well enough that I did want to read more, and that's the hallmark of a good writer. Garth Ennis IS a good writer, I just think he gets too much into the violence and toilet humor as if they're an end in themselves. I feel strong writing can get lost when relying on such tactics and it IS what turns me off of reading a lot of his stuff.
BTW Lewis, I had a question. Are you planning on doing another of those Q&A videos like you did before? I had a couple of things I was curious about but figured it'd be better to save them for that kind of thing. (And if this is one of those questions that you get asked a lot like "When's the next HOPR?", I apologize).
Also, some amusing news about the next Sentai series, Gobuster. The transformation item of the season is a wrist strap called the Morphin Brace, which turns into a pair of sunglasses. And apparently according to early information, the transformation call is "It's Morphin Time!" So I guess Toei is getting more open with their acknowledgement of Power Rangers than they have in the past. XD
@Lord You Know Who
At December 2, 2011 5:39 PM you Lord You Know Who asked and i quote : Who the hell are Sheridan and Sinclair?
And later at December 2, 2011 7:54 PM i answered straight and directly, now if you want further information about the characters please look at google search or any other search site that suits best your curiosity or else don't bother to ask if you don't want an answer.
@Lewis
quoting : "I have had enough of this".... "it's not going to happen here anymore".
Understood, sorry if i cross the line and offended you or your family in any sense, way or fashion, will never happen again and this is the last time i bend my own establish rules to post comments here before my mandatory self-suspension is over, as a non-faceless commentator is on my best interest to not pissed off you and most of the time i honestly don't expect that.
Thank you for you patience so far.
P.S.: i hope is not snowing there because here is raining and nobody does anything in this city when it's raining even if you have a car, have a nice weekend despite the odds.
"of course, some people are just too dumb to look beyond the violence and toilet-humor, that are part, but not the main source of appeal."
I've gotta agree with Lewis on this one; some stories are well-written enough to incorporate the violence into the narrative, like A Clockwork Orange, and some just overstep their bounds. Preacher falls into the latter category.
As to religious extremism, yes, it exists. But not EVERY. SINGLE. RELIGIOUS PERSON is like this. Just like not every atheist is an insane gibbering nihilist raging against the heavens just to be cool, as Richard Dawkins has made people believe. XD
Hey Lewis (aka Linkara),
Just wanted to leave a note that says thank you for keeping up. Ever since I moved to Poland a couple of years back, I missed seeing the world of comics, and have very little idea of what's going on. (Poland has a dearth of English language comics...who knew?).
Anyway, keep it up.
P.S. When are you going to have the Last Angry Geek on your show? ;)
Hey lewis, I know that you've probably been asked this before, but do have any opinion on the works of Warren Ellis in general.
I know that you liked nextwave, a comic that I have yet to read, but do you have any feelings regarding his work in general.(I personally loved his run on the authority and found Black Summer to be fairly interesting, even though I dont tend to agree with him whenever it comes to politics).
Thank you for reading and good luck with your show.
Ps: Also, do you believe that Crisis on infinite earths can be enjoyably read by someone who has little to no experience with the manstream DC universe.
Pss: Cudos on the 7th doctor costume.
Warren Ellis: He's the kind of cross genre wunderkind who, if you skim through everything he's done, you'll find something to like. Want a sci-fi dystopia, try Transmet. Like something light and random, here's some Nextwave. Love Zombie fiction? Here's Blackgas. Want a more realistic starship captain than what's on TV? Switchblade Honey will work as soothing balm. Want his opinion on real news stories? Bad World will save the day. Garth Ennis, on the other hand? Unrelentingly grim and potty mouthed and controversy baiting, especially on his original stuff. Especially the Pro, which, well, I kind of want to do a video review of. (But I'm reading A Dance to the Music of Time right now and should really get on it.)
Not much to say, but I enjoyed the Q&A, although I could barely hear the questions.
I caught a reference to AT4W in a User-Generated Infamous2 mission:
Person who's gone insane [on cell phone]: I need scissors! 61!
I thought that was pretty cool.
Oh my God I would die for a Harvey Finevoice episode, that would be killer! Swing baby!
Just had a thought--I'm willing to bet that another of the magic guns will be...
BLOODGUN!
(Which I still think is a title that one could make a pretty damned cool horror/chiller comic out of--a Luger that was the sidearm of an SS officer sacrificed in an attempt to summon some dark power in an occult ritual, but the demon was somehow trapped in the gun itself, and it's now cursed. The series is semi-anthology, and follows the Bloodgun as it passes from owner to owner and brings doom to them every time...)
Hi there Louis, I've enjoyed your show for a long time and this is my first posting. I was wondering what your thoughts were in regards to the Teen Titans #3 with their new gay character Miguel and when we might be able to hear them. Thanks.
Hypothetically speaking, if you had enough time would, you be interested in doing a recap like you do with History of Power Rangers with the new Doctor Who. Obviously you would probably never do this but seeing that you are a fan of the old series, I am courious of what you think of the new one.
THANK YOU! We feel the exact same way about the Walking Dead, and you're the only other person who's shared my point of view. I've heard nothing but fantastic things about the book and the show, and keep having people telling me I need to get into it, but zombies just aren't my thing so it holds little appeal for me. I read the first trade; the library doesn't have the second and I didn't like it enough to buy it, so that's where I stopped.
@Lordknowswho:
"Also, Jack Chick fans would be Catholic (not Christian, since Chick also targets Christians, a fact that eludes many people) fundamentalists."
BWAHAHAHAH! I take it that you haven't read that many Chick tracts for silly fun, have you?
The correct thing to say is:
Jack Chick fans would be fundamentalists (not Catholic, since Chick targets them since he thinks they aren't real Christians, a fact that eludes many people).
The reason they aren't real Christians?
They are really worshiping some dark elder god that they are not aware of. I'm not kidding, there's a Chick Tract about that.
You should review "Rump Rangers" with Diamanda Hagan. That's her territory, too, and she would probably have more to say about it than Brad.
Dear Mr Linkara,
I was just wondering if you have/are planning to pick up Batman: Noel by Lee Bermejo?
I've just finished reading it and personally thought it was an interesting take on the evolution of batman from the bright and colourful to the dark and depressive as well as being a somewhat charing christmas narative that has really put me into the right spirit of the holidays, and whilst it may not be suitable for the cannon of the Bat mythos, it is still an interesting read.
That said I am a person more interested in a story regardless of it's elements rather than being drawn into the traditional superhero role (I appologise of that sounds close minded but I cant think of a better way to express that notion for superheros you talked about in the Q&A). So I would be interested in hearing your take on Noel?
Regards, Relinquo Spes.
"Oh, I JUST talked about this! XD Archie's TMNT Adventures is just the perfect recipe for Turtle goodness. They were also the only ones to pull off a female Turtle: NINJARA!...Well, she was a fox, but her role was the same. To each his own, I suppose. I myself could never get past Mirage TMNT's art style.:"
Actually, although TMNT Adventures was published by Archie, Mirage handled most of the creative decisions on that book, and most of TMNT Adventures' artists and writers were Mirage staffers (Mirage TMNT regular Steve Murphy wrote and/or plotted perhaps the majority of TMNT Adventures stories under the pseudonym "Dean Clarrain").
IDW has also done some TMNT comics (but who hasn't milked TMNT these days?). I think Ghostbusters and TMNT are meant for each other.
I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Read Journey into Mystery. Even the recap pages are golden.
Just to echo Freyaday's comment, I couldn't hear all the questions in the Q&A so I had to deduce them from your answer (e.g. "When's your webcomic coming out again?"). I don't know whether that was a problem for people in the room as well, but it might be a good idea for you to repeat the question before you answer it. The other method I've seen at live events is for someone to dash around the audience with a microphone and give it to the person asking a question.
Will you continuing TAIS?
Thanks for coming out to the convention! Great review. I kind of laughes at the entity storyline that it turned out to be a Pokémon reference. I am not much of a fan of that franchise, so took me by complete surprise. If I was I might have gotten the TOS Klingon ship! Oh well. Any Idea where you will be going to after Magfest?
hey linkara I need some help. I have decided to pick one of these comics to start pulling
Justice League International
Aquaman
Red Lanterns
Suicide Squad
You mind helping out?
Different people have different tastes. Personally I feel like superheroes, especially really old ones dominate too much of the comic book industry. To be sure, there are plenty of other reasonably successful genres out there, for instance humor, autobiography, whatever genre The Sandman is. What people often don't get about the comic book format is that it's a medium, and like any medium it can tell many kinds of stories. It's not even a single community or a single set of values. The average webcomic artist could not be further apart from Frank "Lords of Warcraft" Miller. That said, I don't hate superheroes. They can be awesome.
