Is it me or did this live show attract a REALLY bad audience? I mean seriously, they laughed at only like half of the jokes, they didn't Bulk and Skull's theme song(something that anyone who has seen MMPR should know), and really, they didn't seems as enthusiastic as the usual crowd for the live shows. Oh and that guy who kept making that Windex joke was really annoying.
Well, the review itself was good, Linkara. I just hope that you didn't feel awkward up there for any reason because of the crowd.
Hey, I've been wondering something about the live shows though, what're you going to do when you run out of horror movie titles to give them?
When you said the title, I was expecting someone to shout the classic three notes from James Bernard's classic Hammer Dracula theme! I'm such a horror nerd.
Ah, well that explains the TF2 cameo from last time. I'm surprised the audience was quieter than usual, but it was a nice change from constant attempts at adding jokes.
Also, really glad you did a proper review of this one. The previous video didn't convey quite how bad it was. And is it just me or are the villains wearing lipstick at 18:00?
Yeah, they admitted in the Trade Paperback collection that it took so long to get the comic made that by the time they finished it came out during Zedd's tenure, so they had to replace Rita at last minute. Hence also why the Z-Putties are treated like regular ones.
It was fun to watch it live, though it is obnoxious when fans tend to speak out of term and just blurt stuff out loud.
I know they're having fun, but c'mon, you don't need to comment on everything OUT LOUD.
Is that a running gag, Linkara? I could've sworn it's come up before, in that the April 1st episode where you parodied WHOEVER never happened and does not exist? :P
Correct me if that's just a joke you came up with for the Live show, but for some reason I've thought this before this Live show, and you can see why I'm asking in that case.
You know...even though their were bad comics before of Power Rangers(even the Power Ringers comics I have to include) is...they accurately portrayed the series of Power Rangers well...This comic was filled with Continuity Errors and character errors,Zordon just can't teleport the Rangers to a alternate Universe or Dimension just like that...HELL EVEN IN THE FIRST MOVIE IT TOOK A SHIT TON OF ENERGY TO TELEPORT EVERYONE TO A FARAWAY PLANET EVEN WITH THEIR HQ DESTROYED. which makes this bad comic hilariously bad but still a bad comic nonetheless.
But the Power Rangers could fly! It was called "jetting". I forget what episode it happened in, I think it might have been somewhere around the Power Transfer. (So, after this comic takes place, so that's probably not an excuse.

It did seem like they weren't as into it as much, so either I didn't bring the funny or possibly a bad crowd, though everyone afterwards said I was hilarious.
"Hey, I've been wondering something about the live shows though, what're you going to do when you run out of horror movie titles to give them?"
Don't know, but I've written down at least a dozen more titles to milk out of this using various "________ of AT4W Live!," so I think I'll be good for a while.
Coming from someone who was in the crowd. I think it was a blend of people who have never watched the show, people who have, and the small part of the crowd that was like wait a minute he's already reviewed this one.
I know me and my 3 friends were cracking up at the jokes, and at least tried to get the bulk and skull theme going. I know we loved it.
So, I remember you saying that some of the Power Rangers actors were there... Which of them were there, and did you get to meet and talk with any of them?
Gee, I'll continue the trend:
Is it just me, or on the top panel shown at 10:16, were they in a Charlie's Angels pose?
And no comment on the Zarathustra dimension? So it's the dimension of an ancient philosopher. Was the spider Ahura Mazda then?
You're right though, I can totally see this as an actual episode. Especially with Rita rather than Zed.
One day, maybe I'll get to come out to one of your Live Shows (or you'll get invited to the Emerald City Comic Con, and I can afford to go to one of your Live Shows).
:D
Shada
I'm kind of surprised you didn't comment on how terribly off-model all the artwork was. I know it can be kind of difficult to recreate that level of detail in every panel, but just look at Squat in the "make my monster grow" panel; it's like staring into he eyes of madness.
Also, were you really planning on reviewing the Team Fortress comics? I didn't think they were bad personally, but that's just me.
Yeah, quite a quiet crowd this time. Maybe they were just trying to show you respect or something? Anyway, fantastic live show as usual!
What the caterpillar did was not piss, it was Jarate. How could you not know this Sniper Linkara?
That "Windex" guy was annoying.
Windex guy reminded me of Skyrim guy from the live d20 session at conbravo.
I think the crowd eventually caught on. I do think it was all hilarious though. I actually have this comic book in my collection. I got at a Wal-Mart back in the day.
I think the audience was a little less into it because you didn't have a finished episode to premiere for them and get them into it before going into the live.
I thought it was enjoyable. Although with the panel joke and you doing a panel I'm surprised no one made a comment about Zed not having a panel at this convention. But maybe that was just too blatant.
Can't help but wonder if you will ever get back to the second part of a certain comic you had done live before. I'm still curious how you will handle a last time on for a live.
It's funny that you mentioned how none of the original Mighty Morphin' actors were there for the comic to make more sense as a tie-in.
Jason David Frank, David Yost, and Walter Emanuel Jones are all going to be at Rhode Island Comic-Con in November (also John de Lancie and a bunch of other people).
... As a comic, yeah this one was bad. As an 'episode of the show,' it'd be about average, but only if they had Rita in there instead of Zed.
Fiery Little One
I don´t know. I thought the comic wasn´t that bad and i´m a huge MMPR Fan. Sure there was some bad artwort und some inconsistencies. But otherwise it was basicly the PR we know and love cheesy as hell and with some ridiculous moments.
I think it could have been worse.
With the audience well i don´t mind. It´s a live show you can´t choose your audience. Sometimes you get a great one sometimes not.
Personally, I LIKED the Windex joke. ;)
In the audience's defense, at least there weren't dozens of morons trying to lamely shout out their own attempts at humor throughout the show--there was really just one. Quite a stark contrast to the last live show he did in Minnesota, which is odd, considering a lot of the same people probably attended both shows.
Also, the Bulk and Skull theme is HARD to start as a group. Seriously, try it sometime. We were trying, we just weren't all in sync.
We really did enjoy the show, Lewis! I just think most of us were trying not to be "that" audience member, and actually let you perform.

Bulk and Skull's real project was lobotomizing Jason (seriously, what's up with his eyes). Maybe it explains he just falls down against the moth monster.
Ah so that is what that was from. TF2. I didn't know what you were dressed as during the episode and forget to ask. Yeah this comic looking back at isn't that great. I have the whole series hamilition put out and pretty much all pr comics other then beetleborgs crossover I think.
Actually these moth's are real but they're called Vampire Moths or Mosquito Moths. I've seen footage of em on youtube. Scary little buggers. They DO drink blood and originated in Malaysia but have seemingly infiltrated Europe (as far north as Sweden and Finland).
Also that Vampire/Dracula Moth that Billy had...uh...that looked more like a Urania moth as Vampire Moths are mottled/brown.

Wait, You MIGHT review the TF2 webcomics in the future? What, you think they're bad?
Linkara, did you see the Star Trek TOS Google Doodle today?
I'm disappointed that neither you nor the audience thought to reference Animaniacs' Power Rangers parody, specifically the "don't play with giant bugs" segment at the end.
To my knowledge, you've run through all of the Frankenstein movies. What will you name your next Live show? Abbott & Costello Meet Atop the Fourth Wall Live?
Yeah, the comic felt like it was the worst mish-mash, a Zyu2 episode rewritten with the Dairanger mechs...which means it's probably easily between Green no More and Missing Green. And what was with Zordon's weird plan regarding stopping the butterfly monster...send your soldiers into a tentacle dimension? Zordon, no wonder so many forget how stupid you were when waxing nostalgically for the franchise.
On the other hand, there are some Power Rangers who can fly...though the only one off the top of my head is Kelsey with the wings on her Wild Force suit. She probably would have done better than Kimberly though being a harden pilot instead of...Kimberly at this point.
Kelsey...what was I thinking? I meant Taylor.
I wish I could've caught this on earlier!
I love this! I've seen this same book reviewed 2-3 times now and the last time didn't mention a lot of these problems, but they did say they did like the fact in the comic the monster for once wasn't based on a humanoid body as it wasn't a guy in a suit.
You gotta love how she's hanging on to him and there's not a chance in hell...
I'm shocked no one knew the Bulk and Skull theme!!
I'd love this comic just to redo the dialog and make it like a Rifftrax comic.
It kinda looked more like they were just fixing to dog-pile on the worm instead of flying at it even though both are pretty stupid!
The only problem with this video was it was too dark to see anything!
So, about that comment equating a spin on the Googlemobile with "extensive research." Was that another little jab at Mr. Bores, or just a coincidence? I think I see what you did there, but I'm not sure you actually did it intentionally.
God, with all these tentacles, I could swear that this "alternate dimension" is the Floating Garden from Rosario Vampire. Then again, Zordon transported the team to the "Desert of Despair" when it was really the desert outside the Command Center. So yeah, Zordan's kind of a dick.
Also, I got a good manga to riff at the next anime convention live show, Rosario Vampire. In short terms, its goofy but can be awesome, tragic, heartwarming, and hilarious at the same time with some of the best characters in any manga i've ever read.
I remember seeing this as part of the triple feature on April Fool's Day in 2011, the one in which you mocked the Irate Gamer.
This was a bad comic. Whoever wrote this obviously did not see an episode with Lord Zedd (with or without Rita Repulsa). This is definitely an epic fail for Hamilton Comics.
The scene where the Rangers attack the caterpiller, where it looks like they can fly, the Pink Ranger's pose made me think "Pu-ma Man, He flies like a moron"
I can vouch for Unknown about the Rosario + Vampire thing... Which reminds. Got to pre-order volume 10 of season II.
Any way I do hope you get a better audience next time. And that the windex guy takes a hike... man he's annoying.
First time through I thought the line from the teacher about finding more things to kill and pin to boards was part of the comic, very nice timing with that.
And I normally don't mind the audience comments, most tend to make sure to not talk over you and can be funny, though this audience seemed a little time delayed with their reactions.
Still, funny review and I always enjoy watching the live eps.
