AT4W Bloopers, Alternate Takes, and Behind the Scenes

A compilation of bloopers, alternate takes, and behind the scenes footage where decisions are made on how lines should be said, should be added or deleted, or people calling me an idiot!

Most of these are from the last year's worth of stuff since it's only within that time that I've been able to KEEP all of the footage on my hard drive, since otherwise I would delete it for space. ‎

I continue to envy you and all your fellow producers and all the fun you clearly appear to have in putting together these crossovers.

You also cleared up one of my questions ever since the videos in DC were first released. Why Corporate Commander had a censored head. The helmet wasn't there.

Please if you ever get together for shoots that aren't concurrent with cons spread the word in advance so fans have a chance for a Meet & Greet or to assist if needed.

Locals often know good deals on food, places to pick up spare props or lighting etc.

Man these were really good clips. Plus got to see some of my favorite part of other videos get missed up or planned out like the idea for Nash to say "I'm Pregnant!" to me that is a classic moment from the big crossovers that weren't the anniversaries. I hope in later episodes of AT4W you write your dad, and brother in more. Keep up the great work, and hope you, and all the other producers get to do more big crossovers like the Southland tales crossover.

This was fun, thank you for sharing. Am glad you've got the hard drive space to keep these around.

For the record, I knew what a boon was. ;)

Did you guys inadvertently chose the most difficult accent for the Gunslinger?

Hearing those people in the hall during the one take does make me curious, how do you film all those scenes without annoying your neighbors? I know things aren't really exploding but sometimes it seems like you'd get loud when doing takes. And are you on the ground floor 'cause for filming, you fall down a lot. (By the way, I envy your ability to fall so convincingly/consistently for different characters.)

Though I doubt all apartment walls were as thin as where I used to live.

Very much enjoyed seeing the extra shots for the battle scene from To Boldly Flee.

Didn't even notice the "of course, don't you know anything about magic?" joke until watching the takes, and feel silly for missing it.

Was the finger trap a nod to Data?

I'll stop rambling all over your page now.

Alright, let's get this one answered:
boon, noun

1.
something to be thankful for; blessing; benefit.

2.
something that is asked; a favor sought.

Origin:
1125–75; Middle English bone < Old Norse bōn prayer; cognate with Old English bēn

That commercial lead in--genius. :)

I think they should have used the "target that explosion and fire" line in tbf

I would love to see outtakes from the Snowflame PSAs, but this outtakes reel was pretty good.

Laughed out loud when you said "What is this!?". Loved that!

Your brother was great and so was the rest of this.

PS What is your brother's name. It always says G. Lovhaug.

Also due to the fact that you were dressed as the 7th Doctor, did you see the Hobbit yet? I think you may know that Sylvester McCoy plays Radagast the Brown in it. I found this out after watching Last Angry Geek's You Don't Know Who The Snowmen review.

Where were all of these clips from?
Sure I've seen your show, but were did Angry Joe's clip come from for example?

From the storyline segments, a lot of which occur after the credits.

The Angry Joe one comes from the Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home review.

Was the "I know a witch who spends all her time Meditating." Line supposed to be a Raven reference?

I don't know the root word of Bane and Boon. But I get what you are saying. In Boon's case, its a gift passed down from a god/deity/demon/celestial, to a chosen mortal, ranging from a certain power or enhanced ability, while it is considered a positive thing it always has a price. Sometimes something benign like using that gift to help others, while other times its more malignant such as giving half your lifespan or your soul. A Bane is a cursed ability that is forced upon you by said God/Demon/Deity/celestial. The difference between the two is that a Boon you can choose not to have. A bane, you have no choice.

Linkara!111! I accuse you of not reading every comment!!!!! I demand that you resond to this comment to prove that you DO read EVERY SINGLE COMMENT.

By the Way Linkara or lewis, I strongly DEMAND that you do a "Frank Miller Month" or "Miller Month", since you have not done a Miller time segment in a LONG TIME. Now drop every plan you had for febuary and review some Frank Miller Comics .

You could review Frank Miller Robocop, or Batman Year One.

BY THE WAY LINKARA I LOVED ALL-STAR BATMAN AND ROBIN. YA KNOW WHY????? Because BATMAN KILLED PEOPLE. You were stupidly comparing this one to the other frank miller comic batmen. Don't believe Him! LOOK AT BATMAN AND ROBIN AS AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE BATMAN YOU FORGETER OF COMICS!

If you don't respond to this comment I will never belive you read all the comments.

Great stuff, I really enjoy behind-the-scenes videos. Great to see more of the non-Channel Awesome people from your show, too - I'm not sure which was funniest, Will and the battle of the accent, or your brother and... well, everything.

Btw, I'm probably in the minority, but I'm gonna come out on his side in this one - I didn't know what a boon was, either (a bane, yes, but not a boon). Glad it came up because I couldn't even figure out what the word was in the original video and it puzzled me.

But even so... guys... did you really think this through? I mean, given the ways things seen to work around here, is it really a good idea to directly ask the audience to explain something?! *braces self for multiple posts on the meaning of 'boon' - even though its already explained in the video*

No, as was said in the video, the witch was originally going to be a character I visited who pointed me in the direction of Aplos. That didn't end up happening, so the line was cut.

Or, you know, I could have just NOT approved your comment if I had so chosen. As I said in the video - I have to approve all the ones on the blog, therefore I choose what ends up there. And while I'm usually pretty open to posting anything aside from spam, please don't presume that I am being untruthful when I make such statements.

I got to 18:37 and realized..Is the universe still poison in the plothole? Second, is it harder to locate?

..Or wait, when did this video come out? It was before the 4th year, wasn't it? Please tell me it was. DX

Nope, the Gunslinger storyline takes place after To Boldly Flee.

Those fire lines were funny, I wish they would have been used for TBF.

I knew that part, I just simply assumed it was a stealth pun in addition to that, since you are a fan of the Titans and all. An old habit of mine it is. To read into lines more to see what I can get out of even if it wasn't the creator's intention. Still the witch idea was pretty good even if you didn't get around to it. Though now that I think of it, him going straight to Aplos was better, because it showed of the old Linkara being impatient skipping any tests and what not that would usually take for someone as powerful as Aplos or Merlin.

Who were you calling during that Insano scene? Just curious.

Lewis Lovhaug said...

"Who were you calling during that Insano scene? Just curious."

Doug. He was borrowing my camera's hotshoe for more To Boldly Flee filming.

Please never mimic Eric Bana again. The memories hurt too much. Other than that, it's nice to see what antics go on behind the scenes.

...Didn't you post this EXACT message some time before on another Bloopers video? It's especially bizarre considering there was no Eric Bana mimicing in this.

I think he was referring to the "FIRE EVERYTHING!!!" Line.

I wouldn't be surprised if people started writing Gunslinger and SIERRA slash fiction after watching that "we can make this work" scene

you know i have a hard time understanding that concept. in the unvierse thingy there is a problem with continuity, yuet you guys are aware of it yet incontinuity still happens.......

My favorite were the bloopers from the Southland Tales review. It's so much fun seeing everyone. hearing Kyle yell "Stop being so Hetero!" was fun for some reason.

I think the reason he doesn't do a Frank Miller Month is because he doesn't want to do a lot of Miller books at the same time. He wants to stretch it out. Frank Miller books have a lot of joke fodder, so he doesn't do a lot of them at once. Also, he can't drop every plan he has for February because February is usually when the storyline segments conclude, and he wants the comic he's reviewing to match up somewhat with what's happening in the storyline.

"BY THE WAY LINKARA I LOVED ALL-STAR BATMAN AND ROBIN. YA KNOW WHY????? Because BATMAN KILLED PEOPLE. You were stupidly comparing this one to the other frank miller comic batmen. Don't believe Him! LOOK AT BATMAN AND ROBIN AS AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE BATMAN YOU FORGETER OF COMICS!"

While you do have the right to an opinion, he wasn't "stupidly comparing this one [All-Star Batman & Robin] to other frank miller comic batmen" Frank has stated himself that All-Star Batman & Robin takes place in the same universe as his Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Year One continuities (in fact, that was mentioned in one of Lewis's Miller Time reviews). So, yeah. You're wrong on that.

"If you don't respond to this comment I will never belive you read all the comments."

And, as Lewis has already told you, he approves each comment, so by having your comment just appear on this blog, it shows that he does read each comment. (oh yes, and thus by telling you that, he has responded to your comment, so, again, he does read each one.)

Out of curiousity, what was the bit in Southland tales you cut out, and what scene was it that reminded you of Battlestar galactica.

Also, how was that bit supposed to play out if you did put it in the review?

Other than that, it really shows how much you and the other reviewers enjoy doing crossovers with each other.

If I recall correctly, it was in response to the entourage saying cryptic things to Boxer Santaros, possibly the ending where they're explaning the time-displaced duplicates. It reminded me of that opening bit from Battlestar Galactica where it said that the Cylons "Had a plan." Except they DIDN'T have a plan. It was a flat-out lie to make things sound more mysterious and cool.

And that's what it is with these guys - they say cryptic things as if they have some grand plan for what's happening... but they don't. Nothing is changed by telling Boxer about the time-displaced duplicates.

Lewis, I have a big problem. I saw your Ad video, and I commented that never had an AdBlocker. But now for some reason, I'm getting that 90 second message you talked about. Is there a possibility of that message appearing without AdBlock?

There might be something in your browser that's causing it, or just an error in general. May want to contact blip and check into it if you can't find the source.

It seems that when it comes up, if I just refresh the page, the ad will play. Now it has stopped happening, but if it does that again, refreshing the page will do the trick.
