Linkara Riffs: Let's Be Good Citizens at School

Linkara riffs on a short about how citizenry somehow has to do with cookies and hiccups in the space-time continuum. ‎

Oh I so do love your riffs 8) "There can be only ONE!!!"

so...are we in the same school as the one from computer whiz kids?
don't you love how the narrator just says "good citizen" like it meant something?
i love how they are only friendly with the girl when the mother brings cookies to them. even when kids are brainwashed by the government to have no individuality whatsoever, they STILL are selfish assholes.

Obviously this is not Ayn Rand Elementary.

I'm surprised you managed to keep from doing any Harvey Finevoice jokes in this riff.

This must've been a little difficult to riff on a short whose picture and sound qualities equal that of The Ape Man. Still, I'll give you a thumbs up for at least trying!

Huh I wonder if that Happy Harvey grew up to be Harvey Finevoice.

Are you saying that the Communist Manifesto is NOT the right book to take to school? The teacher talks to me far more often when I bring it. I even get to talk to the principal. Man, Communism sure is the best way to get popular.

Hey! Thats Harvey Finevoice! :D

"Good morning, class, I hope you all had a good summer vacation!"

Seriously is that the only teacher in the whole damn district? No wonder the kids have to police themselves at recess.

These Riffs are great!

Lewis, you have got to do a Rifftrax with Mike Nelson! I got the perfect film. Iron Man 2 or Tim Burton's 1989 Batman. I can imagiane a huge yelling rant when it is reveled that Jack Napier (The Joker) was the one who killed the Waynes.

Come on, if Doug, Rob and Brian can get to do a Rifftrax Presents with Batman Forever, you should totally ask if you could do one.

we share a similar mindset.

Yes, all good proper children play games and are friends with every student in their class. If a child doesn't fit into the group obviously their is something wrong with them, like that freak Kth-77 who only had about 2-3 friends. He must spend many hours at night pondering what it is that's wrong with him.

Don't you see, Linkara? This short film was edited by Harvey to make him look like a saint, so he could secure his career as District Attorney in Gotham.

AT 3:35... The "high five" has not yet been perfected.

Tip for breaking audio in recordings. The computer's mute leaves a more convincing effect or if you can manipulate the audio track without damaging the timing you could also just delete the unwanted parts of the words.

I enjoyed this one more than the last one but am really glad its not used in schools any longer. Heck Citizenship got dropped from the curriculum entirely in may school districts which is overboard the other way.

Oh my God, there are PSA-s for EVERYTHING? I would THINK that getting kids behave in school is rather the parents' (and somewhat the teachers') job!

Drinking game: Whenever the narrator says "it's part of being a good citizen" take a shot!
I mean seriously, I feel like he is trying to hypnotize me.

Also, *insert millionth Harvey Finevoice joke here*.
(That's what I get for watching videos late. xD)

Fun fact, conservative America and communist Russia weren't really all that different

The "Communist Rules for Revolution" conspiracy theory in America and the "Dulles' Doctrine" conspiracy theory in Russia are almost mirror images of each other. Each side of the Cold War was thinking the other side is secretly corrupting their young, spreading sex and vanity and undermining the nation's salt-of-the-earth ruggedness.

Maybe all of those skips in the narration was the narrator finding what he was talking about so absurd that he couldn't keep it together.

As far as the teacher goes, the whole teaching 3 classes at once isn't so odd to me, when I was in elementary school for a time my teacher would have to cover several grades at once, with mixed results. I believe the most she had was 5 grades in one room. And as a sub, I've had to teach two classes at once a few times.

I saw on Twitter that you were releasing this extra content to make up revenue, any chance of the return of "That's All That I'm Saying"? Maybe not the "I'll review every comic" version but the 5 minute, "Hey I'm reading this and its good version."

considering how strong the Socialist Party was in Italy back then, I§m surprised they would be even willing to ignore her

"Not to blame the victim, but how did he not see that leg?"

Yeah, and I was going to point out on the drink-driving one that one of the drivers started across an intersection, slammed on his brakes in front of an oncoming car, and I *think* we were supposed to blame the other driver for hitting him while drunk...
but I'm not sure (it had a vibe of 'that other driver should've been watching / slowed down at the intersection; if he had, the accident wouldn't happen').

If you don't have friends, get your legal name changed to Harvey (even if you're a girl!) or bribe them with cookies... delicious Italian cookies!

That's what makes a good citizen.

These are fantastic.

Yeah I made a joke in my head about the kid in the film being a young Harvey Finevoice LOL
