A Quick Look At... The Amityville Horror & Amityville II: The Possession

A new series, kind of like That's All I'm Saying, but wherein I take a quick look at movies, TV shows, or anything like that briefly! First up: The Amityville Horror!

Amityville II: The Possession, the one with incest and not really a sequel or prequel! ‎

Ok Link let me say welcome to the horror fold I look forward to more of these and your thoughts on the future Amityville movies. particularly Amityville 1992. I also adore haunted house movies oh and I agree with you about the scene with the priest glaring at the house.

Now where I disagree with you is the part about with the dog. I would definetly go back into a haunted house to get my dogs or cats. I'd be a bit worried about about what the house might try to do to them while Im no longer its focus. so cant say i agree with you on that one

Snow providing an isolated and haunting atmosphere making the actual horror more effective. Quite an accurate description of Silent Hill.

Cool, Linkara doing horror stuff. Sounds awesome. Alright Lewis show us some more. This was pretty fun to say the least.

Linkara, you did a real decent job talking about these decent fiction. But the truth is Ronnie "Butch" DeFayo was high on Drugs and was NOT possessed by any demons when he slaughtered his family. I should know my dad, when he worked in corrections had as one of his first assignments the facility Ronnie "Butch" DeFayo was incarcerated in.

Count me among those that like it, so far. I've never seen the Amityville movies really, and so, I can't offer an opinion on that. I do like the straight forward format of this which gives enough detail to feel worthwhile, but not taking much time to watch.

I do feel like there's something missing at the end of the videos. Maybe add in a tag of a notable moment in the film to it give more of a punctuation. Something scary or funny or what not based on the tone of the review. If the movie's good and you like it, throw in something impressive that hooks the viewers' interest. If it's bad, throw in a stupid or ridiculous clip to emphasize that feeling. Just a suggestion.

I remember seeing the first Amityville at West Virginia University's Gluck Theater around 2000. The film didn't seem to click with the crowd and when we got to the scene where the guy sticks his head in the red room someone yelled out "You Idiot!" and everyone broke out laughing.

Enjoying the new series so far.

I first saw the first Ammityville at West Virginia University's Gluck Theater around Halloween 2000. It didn't play too well to the crowd. I remember when we got to the scene where the guy sticks his head in the red room and someone yelled out "You Idiot!" The whole theater laughed.

Enjoyed the new series so far. While you aren't going to discuss the "True Story" skeptic Brian Dunning has an excellent short podcast on the subject.

So far I've seen both sets of these you have out. I have to say, you are doing a good job. I hope you continue this side-series, and am intrigued to know more about these films.

These were very entertaining,, and I hope you do more. I am a fan of haunted house stories too. One of my favorites being house of usher, both the movie, and short story. I agree with what you said about the snow. I was reminded of silent hill shattered memories' other world being covered with ice. I still insist that I felt cold because of those sections.

Like Razorgiest, I have to disagree with you about the dog. If I was escaping a haunted house I would refuse to leave the house until I knew my dog was with me.

Well I hope Linkara keep doing this quick look series, maybe he'll do a review of "The Call of Cthullu" a 2005 silent movie based on the H.P. Lovecraft short story.

As a horror fan I'm down with this
so BRING IT LINKARA! especially as I'm annoyed with Phelous' review style on TGWTG and want a more straight man take.

As for the stupid idotic dog rescue it's just something that happened with the 70/80's horror films. Remember when Ripley went and rescued the cat when she was SCOTT FREE?

Haunted House movies...well let me just say this: I hated "The Shining" but loved another movie called "The Changeling" about the same time with George C. Scott. Never saw the Amnityville movies but you make interesting points...though why the heck would they want to turn it into the Exorcist, I have no idea.
