Awesome video, this will be a special halloween video series like cinemassacre monster madness? :P
Awesome video, this is going to be an anual special halloween series like cinemassacre's monster madness? :P
You know, the timing of this couldn't have been better. The Block Buster Buster just did a review of Jason X and mentioned the comic in his review.
The "bones not boobs" pun is very groan-worthy and made me headdesk. I applaud. :)
You have the strangest coincidences regarding the timing on your videos sometimes. E-Rod just showed this comic on his last Blockbuster Buster of Jason X (or did you coordinate this one with that?).
Too bad this one is so hard to find.
Great series!
James Rolfe's a big Friday the 13th fan, so I don't know how he would react to this comic. Been wanting to check out the movies for myself by watching them on Netflix Instant Streaming, but they're all gone at this point. I might as well wait until they all come back.
Can I just take a moment to love that the ad I keep getting with Longbox is that boneless chicken one? Quite amusing after Moarte starts laughing at his "bones over boobs" joke.
Woohoo! Killdozer! I've got a buddy who loves that movie like no other, I'll have to send him the link when the review goes up.
I couldn't stand so many of the Jason sequels. They were just so...meh. Nit even the gore and body count could excite me. But this comic actually looks pretty fun! The art seems pretty good too.
I may make some enemies for my self here, but I actually think that Jason X is a rather underrated entry in the franchise
I mean, the movie had some pretty impressive kills, and I do like me some genera blends (by the way, are there any fantasy-slashers out there?)
Didn't surprise me that Jason X won, considering he has improved body parts. Though on the other hand, I'm don't know whether or not the nanites keep repairing the cybernetic implants. If not, he'll probably revert back to normal Jason sooner or later.
And now that I could catch up to this new series, I can finally say: Great work! One can see that you put a lot of effort into this, and each of those comics look very interesting ^^
(Though if I have to get nitpicky, I think the intro sequence is a bit long for such a daily show, but maybe that's just me)
I was wishing and hoping you'd talk about this one, and I must say, you delivered quite nicely. Jason X is a bit of a difficult movie to talk about with serious slasher fans, especially F13 fans in particular. But, I agree with ERod with this one. The movie isn't a prime example of how sinister, gory or awesome the series is, plus it is filled with plot holes and continuity errors a-plenty, but it is not nearly as terrible as people made it out to be. This comic was a perfect answer for many who felt disappointed or betrayed by this movie. Two Jasons duking it out, machetes a-flying, to see who's top slaughterer. Anyways, loved this short, simple, sweet, and to the point review. I hope you continue Longbox of the Damned next year, I'll be watching.
Didn't expect this to show up. How fortuitous, since it was recently mentioned on Blockbuster Buster.
Now we're talking. Jason and I go way back at the age of 13 no pun intended. It all started when I accidentally came across Freddy vs. Jason on IMDB.
The comics sounds fun. Though if you don't mind me asking, how did you obtain your copy?

Ebay, but there were BARELY any copies of #1 available, and even then the prices for both comics are far more than they're worth. Most of 'em went upwards of $10-$20 per issue, and that's just ridiculous for something this recent and, well, not exactly classic bits of Americana.
But what kind of bones excite Moarte the most? A well formed cranium? Thigh bones? Or perhaps the ribcage.
Oh since Linkara mentioned Longbox is last night's regular review... that really makes me wonder how each character knows about the other, are both just shows in the other's world (creating some kind of paradox)? is Moarte actually just the Linkara character in make-up doing a show? Or does Linkara's knowledge of comics just extend so that he knows about the infernal resting place of the darkest comics known to humankind?
"Friday The 13th" is my favorite slasher series, but I really didn't like "Jason X" at all. This episode was good, though. I liked it.
Any chance we're going to see a "Hellraiser" comic appear this month? I know there was a rather long series of them. If not, it's something to look into for next year.
I know a lot of horror fans don't like Jason X, but I think its fun. I really wished uber-Jason showed up sooner. There's a few things to keep in mind about the film as well.
First is that the movie was really just a place holder for the franchise until the Freddy vs Jason movie could be made.
Second is that, at that point in the series, it really had devolved and was approaching horror/comedy. Previous movie had Jason fighting a young woman with telekinetic powers and it had be revealed that "Jason" was some sort of body hoping demon.

10 to 20 dollars, are they out of their minds? 0_0
When were they published? Because they can't be that old.
I like this series. My one complaint is the host character. I find him irritating, specifically the voice. Other than that, good stuff so far.
I can sympathise with the schedule issues, having tried to make a similar show myself (was of horror games, and didn't work out) and was wondering how long it took per episode of this?
The inclusion of the Manga last time reminded me of one horror manga I read that was similar. I don't know the name, but it was about man shaped holes in a mountain side, and the line "This hole was made just for me." It was memorable, but really stupid when you thought about it. I still remember a parody of it where the guy is in Minecraft, goes into a 1x2 hole "just for him", comes out the other side fine and says "Well that sucked".
I hope you will cover Astounding Wolfman. More super hero than horror, but one of my favourites and the book that got me reading comics.
Ah, Jason Vorhees, He's one of my favorite Slasher baddies. This one does sound good, but I don't want to track it down. I wonder if We're going to see any other Slasher film baddies appear here or the good Silent hill comics ?
Pitting a famous monster against another famous monster is a time-tested formula. Pitting a famous monster against the same monster, what an idea!
Seems, like a cool but cheesy comic, but unless you're a hardcore Jason fan, probably not worth the trouble it takes to find it.
Wait sorry I got so busy yesterday I didn't check in but wouldn't the nanites still have been malfunctioning? And what was that part about getting Jason back together as one?
Glad you at least have a copy. I'm probably going to have to settle for when the publisher decides to make it available digitally since it looks like it won't be included when the Jason X series is assembled in trade paperback format. Or someone lied to me about that. Both are possible.
Hey Tetsu Deinonychus, look no further than Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla for that sort of action!
Heya.
While I am no fan of Horror (comics, movies or books) per se, I like some parts of that long box. After I watched the blockbuster-busters review of Jason X - where he said, that there was a Jason X vs. Jason comic - I had a look at this review and... yeah, it is quite nice.
By the way: Moarte has a cool accent and maybe, just maybe, he would be the better choice have a crossover with Elisas Maeven. ^^

O-o Damn perfect timing with this one since I only heard of this comic thanks from The Block Buster Buster and holy shit does this comic look awesome and actually makes sense of how the original Jason could fight his original self. I was actually wondering if you knew of this comic's exsistance and my question is answered!
have you considered looking at hellsing?
