Great Anthology, is it still ongoing? I haven't seen it around lately and well this is the time when even back issues use to get placed a bit more prominently.

Might help if I still had any building with a Comic shop in it around here. But they tore the mall down saying they would rebuild and well its been a few years now.

I should write a disappearing town style story where Park Lane mall comes back with the ghosts of shoppers past or something.

Another fantastic video; I really love how into his own dark humor Moarte is. The rule of humor is generally not to laugh at your own jokes, but people sometimes forget that laughing at your joke can BE the joke.

Looks like a great comic, and that last story in particular is one that might give me a few chills as sharks are one thing that definitely scares me.

The Moench tale seems interesting, though I don't know if I'd use Lovecraft himself for it; it seems kinda cliche to pit Lovecraft against the monsters he wrote about. It'd probably be better with someone else in Lovecraft's world.

This comic reminds me in some way of some of the stories in the now dead British anthology book Warhammer Monthly... as the name suggests, it's comics set in either the worlds of Warhammer Fantasy or Warhammer 40K. While those were fantasy or scifi tales they quite often slip into horror because of how dark and twisted Warhammer can be.

I am so loving this new character. and I really love his dark sense of humor. Keep this up and I hope to see more next year.

Wow Moench can write good stuff it seems.

Keep it up Linkara i really like LOTD.

Speaking of thinks i like when does the next Hystory of Power Rangers come out. Yeah i know when it´s done you adressed this long ago and please don´t consider this as nagging, but could you at least tell me if we can expect another video until the end of the year or if it´s more like "well let spring come around and we´ll see"?

Btw HoPR actually got me back watching Power Rangers with Samurai and i even watched part of the Gokaiger Sentai.

These are interesting, but I have to admit, I am not a fan of the Muerta costume. The contrast between the white face and black lips contrasting with the pink mouth just bothers me.

Wow... this episode is my new favourite in the line (after Sandman)! Those laughters is just mad! :D

Also...
"Your day will come, mummies!"
No no NOOO! Please, not a mummy-twilight! Even Moarte can't be THAT foul!

The shipwreck one should be a "This is how the Titanic should have ended" video. xD

Moarte was cursed to look over the Longbox because of his bad jokes in order to get rid of him.

I'll be honest, when you first proposed the idea for LBotD, I was a bit skeptical. But I have to say these are very interesting and well done shorts. Nice to see you reviewing GOOD comics for a change. Also, will Muarto (sp?) be showing up in your series proper, or is he just relegated to this series?

Yep, issue 10 just came out last week. It seems to be a quarterly thing, though it also now has a sister series "Eerie" that I'll also be covering in Longbox.

Moarte is familiar with Atop the Fourth Wall? ...Do they have internet in the Nether-Realm? Or wherever it is he's in? I suppose these web videos have to come from somewhere...

...Quick Moarte, distract me with another pun!

Heh..."Gets me right here"...

I love Moarté! This is one fun series, Lewis. I'm really enjoying watching this character. You did an excellent job with him. The accent is beautiful and the laughter is fantastic! Keep up the great work with LOTD!

Hey Linkara, I wanted to say that I'm really enjoying the new mini-series, looks like you have a lot of fun with these.

Thanks for this, it's a nice new Halloween series to enjoy this year.

Here it almost seemed like you were channeling the Joker with Moarte.

I love horror anthologies, and in fact anthologies in general, love having a scoop of new ideas

Mummy Twilight...
you know, I can see this working
alto they'd have to go the route The Mummy went with Imhotep, and have them re-gain their human appearance after resurrection
But here's an idea - Leviathans!

By the way, Dial H just reached it's climax with issue 13 this week, and the story-arc ended on a high note
A giant chicken with a hula-hoop fighting against the avatar of nothingness that is trying to devour the moon!
How-come more people aren't reading this!
Why aren't YOU reading it!
Each single issue of this series has more awesome ideas and concepts in it than you'r usual superhero comic does within an entire story-arc!

Lizard-Man said...

Sounds awesome, sadly I doubt I'll be able to find every issue of the series. Black and White indies are rarely the kind of comics that get published in TPB form so I'm stuck fishing through the boxes at the comic shop hoping they have something.

Unless the writers are collecting them somehow. I suppose I could always check on Amazon.

Thanks again for the recommendaqtion Lewis!

see's the cover: Now we now what Diamanda Hagan does with her dead minions

But, I am reading it. It's been great. Up there with Demon Knights as best of the New 52.(Also, it's issue 5)

Also, Morte, considering that White Wolf just released a mummy RPG in there World of Darkness line, the day of the mummies may be soon at hand. XD

I've heard of Creepy before. One of their stories was adapted into an episode of Masters of Horror called Jenifer.

Is it really still around? Also Mr. Moarte, I wouldn't exactly tempt fate regarding mummies being in the mainstream. I mean, have you seen the Stephen Sommers Mummy films? *whistles* XD

Well at least Moench can write something that doesn't glorifies Batman, or have a lot of fan service.

That cover is a good example of color being limited used for effect.
So our ghoulish host, is a pun lover and maker. I wonder if it comes naturally for Horror Hosts or is it a job requirement to make either bad jokes, double entendres, witty remarks or bad puns. We find out that Moarte wants Mummies to be in the spot light and is aware of the Atop of the 4th Wall. I wonder how he is a aware of the Web series ?

Awesome vid, my friend. Though I have been wondering something. Is Moartay (Sorry if it's spelled wrong) going to become a recoring character like Harvey and Linksano, or is he just going to stay at the Longbox?

It's official, I need to be reading this series.

Will Moarte uncover the Army of Darkness in the Longbox?

@Alex Stritar

"But, I am reading it. It's been great. Up there with Demon Knights as best of the New 52.(Also, it's issue 5)"

sorry for the mistake, for some reason I was counting it according to the New 52 issue numbering, rather than the Second Wave numbering

It's actually pretty amazing how much plot and character development they managed to cram into those 5 issues (issue 0 being more of a stand-alone story), without it seeming rushed or too condensed
China Miéville is a very talented story-teller, especially seeing how this is his first comic series (not counting the guest-work he did for Hellblazer)

You know, here's the thing I looked up Moench not long after your Catwoman review and apparently he's actually produced some halfway good stuff.
He's terrible when it comes to just about any superhero but Batman, the only halfway decent one he's written was Moon Knight, but once in a while he turns out something good. Hell, he was one writer involved in Knightfall and responsible for the Terror story arc.

"This comic reminds me in some way of some of the stories in the now dead British anthology book Warhammer Monthly... as the name suggests, it's comics set in either the worlds of Warhammer Fantasy or Warhammer 40K. Glad I'm not the only one who remembers that. Apparently they've re-released the Bloodquest trilogy in a collection and the Titan God-Machine omnibus might be being released as print on demand soon. No word on any of the short tales unfortunately.

Did you do something different with the encoding of this video? For some reason, it takes forever to buffer for me and plays so slowly that the audio and video get out of sync.

I'm sure most of that is the fault of my ancient computer, but I don't have an issue with any of your other videos, including the Longbox videos released before this and the one Longbox video (so far) released after. So I'm curious why this video alone would cause issues.

I love me some Anthology stories!
The Lovecraft on here though sounds more like my cup-o-tea as I love anything dealing with Cthulhu!
Is it just me or does that 1st sotry main character look like the animated series version of Lex Luthor?

This reminds me do you own or have read the Gene Simmons'anthology comic he made like 3-5 years ago? It is quite brutal but got some good stories! I liked the one based on the Baba-Yaga!

Hey I know that last comic, drawn by comic great Richard Corben, it's a reprint from the original run of this comic from the Seventies. Sadly this reprint doesn’t have the crazy weird and luscious coloring that Corben was regarded for in that time of his career.

Here’s a scan of the full colour version on a fan tumblr dedicated to Corben,

Watch out though, the last page is at the top, so avoid looking at that before you read it.

No....just no with the "Hanging around" joke. I get you're trying to mix some Gallows humor, but it made your rather serious character here come off as trying to pull a cryptkeeper

Maybe Moarte should help the Nostalgia Chick and Nella with 50 Shades Of Green
