I love Infestation, but it's volume 2 where it gets really good with Star Trek and the Ghostbusters. I won't spoil it for anyone, but let's just say zombier plagues aren't limited to the living in Ghostbusters.
I really enjoyed the Infestation comics, The Star Trek one in particular I thought was great, the Joe one was a bit of a let down (and I'm a huge GI Joe fan).
I guess they also made a few errors in the Transformers one, since in that Universe Galvatron is not a Decepticon (not even an upgraded Megatron).
I never got around to reading Infestation 2 though, should get on that.
I remember this series... I was really disappointed with the Star Trek story-- haven't read any of the others, but I'll grab vol. 1 and 2 at chapters and see if the other stories are better.
Transformers vs zombies? That's just...
AWESOME!
Thank you very much for reviewing this Moarte.
Zombie robots! Sweet.
I hope for vol.2 tomorrow.
This one looks weird!
It's like if some kid grew up in the 80's and has a desire to see his favorite toys like Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Ghostbusters star in his own little story. Then that kid later grew up and turned it into fan fiction by adding Stargate. Then a comic book company bought the rights to that kid's story, added zombies to the mix (because why not?), and released the comic that is here and now.
The only way it could be more interesting is if it includes some of the best big screen slasher villains like Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Michael Myers. Then again there's Hack/Slash but that's besides the point!
Funny, the latest Nostalgia Critic editorial talked about zombies just yesterday.
I'm always fond of multi-crossovers that spread zombie plagues. This one definitely sounds like my cup of tea as I have read about it before.
you know, I wonder if there's going to be an infestation 3
now that IDW has the rights to MLP and several old Cartoon Network shows, things could get pretty interesting
This means that zombie Transformers have shown up in at least two of IDW's Transformers continuities--Transformers: Regeneration One, their continuation of the original Marvel comic (same creative team, same continuity, same numbering) also included them in its first story arc. Those were more like pre-Romero zombies, though--animated, mindless husks under the control of a master villain.
The Transformers cartoon had some horror themed episodes, too. "Dark Awakening" features Optimus Prime returning as a zombie. "The Dweller in the Depths" has "energy vampires".
Eh, I am pretty sure the plague did not spread. I have zombie-blocker for that. And no, this one is legal, because Linkara does not profit from the zombie apocalypse.
I've read Infestation it was a good series of comics. Personal favourite were the Transformers parts of the series.
nice cant wait for vol 2''
I generally enjoyed Infestation, but found the CVO bookend issues weak. Their use of "artillica", a magic-technology hybrid, was a poorly explained deux ex machina. And when vampires turn into zombies, they become "double undead"? They were seriously making up the rules of magic as they went along.
Please tell me you're going to cover the Mars Attacks/Popeye crossover.
Yes, that was a real thing.
This series is quite awesome. Found it for equal to 3$ on a sale in a bookstore and did not know anything about it. But the elevator pitch of it made it impossible to resist.
IDW got even more series they can throw into the mix. Infestation 3 - with Doctor who, Godzilla and... My Little Pony.
Wow this looks insanely awesome. This was a very good addition to the Longbox.
Oh I hope we are safe from the... oh no I forgot their name, maybe I've been infected nooooooooo.
